Bill, you have done more to attract voters to the Republican Party than anything Hussain Obama has accomplished. Thank You!

Bill has attained new heights with this piece. It is the purest, most high quality slop, without so much as a scintilla of value or common sense. doesn't anyone on the editorial board read this junk before they publish it?

Even though Bill's story is directed at conservatives, it really could apply to either political party as both seem to do dumb things on a daily basis. I'll bet Bill didn't think of that when he wrote the article.

Bill, you've taken what must have been a stressful family situation, found the humor in it and crafted a cogent political argument (even if you do go off the rails a little bit at the end). I'm not sure whether the alarm expressed on Fox News over the New Black Panthers is comical or sad. Probably a little of both.

Keep at it, Bill. These gibbering conservatives need to be shown the way. And if they won't see it or take it, they need to be shown the door. Why do they hate America so much? Hasn't it made 'em all rich?
Mr. Obama has demonstrated that he will stand up for what is correct and constitutional instead of for what is politically advantageous. His Ramadan speech was honorable, patriotic, and unyielding. Republicans COULD have chimed in behind him and come out looking like heroes. But no, they'd rather cross the President and show the world what narrow-minded bigots they are.
God help us on the Left, but please, please, save us from the Right.

The democrats continue to brand the republicans as the "Party of NO", but are you aware that most legislation that passed has been 100% democrats voting Ay, with republicans and SOME DEMOCRATS voting Nay?

I don't know how YOU may interpret this, but it tells ME that while the bills have partisan support, they have BI-PARTISAN OPPOSITION.

The only reason the bills passed is because the republicans were outnumbered..... due to voters who voted for a VERY DISAPPOINTING "Hope and Change" candidate.

It is also interesting to note that many democrats DO NOT WANT the president to help their campaigns for the November elections. Hmmm.... imagine that!

Bill, you are a typical Liberal! Blame the other party for the problems going on in our country.

ObamaNation has been Potus for 20 months now. It's time to quit blaming and start fixing. So far he and the democrats in congress are just throwing gasoline on a bonfire. We cannot spend our way to prosperity much less fill in this massive hole they've expanded.

Higher taxes are obviously inevitable. Washington needs to get a clue and cut spending. The poplulace understands this concept.

Yeah, because Americans have the attention span of a gnat, and can't understand why everything wasn't fixed before the next commercial. It took us almost a decade of Republican misrule to get where we are. It'll take more than 20 months of Dems battling mindless Republican obstructionism to get us out. Duh.

The Bush Administration saw the impending problem with Fannie Mae & Freddy Mac and TRIED to do something about it in 2003! http://www.nytimes.com/2003/09/11/business/ne... 2003 fannie freddie labaton&st=cse&pagewan ted=2

By the time Congress got around to enacting reform in 2005, it was IMPOTENT! http://politics.usnews.com/opinion/blogs/sam-...

Bill for an educator, you are VERY uninformed... with a very typical "Blame the other guys" attitude. I'm glad you are not brainwashing MY kids! People like you should not be teaching.

The CURRENT administration has been spending money THAT WE DON'T HAVE on many things WE DON’T NEED! All the while…. Blaming the republicans for what they “Inherited”..

The only salvation for our economy is INCENTIVES for the PRIVATE sector to expand and create job growth. That CANNOT be achieved by increasing taxes. They need to STOP spending, reward companies creating domestic jobs and perhaps PENALIZE companies who outsource.

Meanwhile the current administration has been more focused on a health care reform that we CANNOT afford right now, and expanding government to unsustainable levels.

Additionally, the government has been spending TAX DOLLARS to extend unemployment benefits. Believe me, I feel for the unemployed, but you know what? SELF-EMPLOYED people pay taxes and they DO NOT QUALIFY for unemployment, even though THEIR tax dollars were spent on extending the benefits.

Your liberal buddies have their hand in WallStreet’s pocket JUST as deep as the republicans do… And THEN some with the unions and ACORN! Hmmm…. Where did Tim Geithner come from? Oh, yeah, NOW I remember….

…And do you know who George Soros is? Other than the fact he’s the “deep pockets” behind Democrat campaign financing, I will let you do your own research on his shenanigans…..

Bill, I am seriously disappointed with your tale about your son. Seriously!!! Since you start off speaking of RTC and in your position as well, then you're quite familiar with HIPAA rules & regulations. To be putting your son's private business out there was highly inappropriate. It would be one thing for him to do so himself, but for you to do that is troubling. I'm saying this because of the fact that I've worked with "troubled & at risk youth".

Then the way you correlate it into your predicable rant against Republicans and your typical blaming the Republicans for all the US' woes is ridiculous. Come on, Bill, I'm challenging you to dig deep and write something more coherent than this. Hell, even Placitas Roys BS rants are coming off as more to the point than yours, but then again he's busy copying & pasting his material from his left wing propaganda sites.

I realize you've been & continue to go through a rough ordeal, but I'm not going to lie to you. By all means write what you really feel and believe, but please don't do so at another's expense. I might not agree with all your politics but in your right to free speech yes.

If Doc Hays could give us an exceptional piece last week, I'm challenging you to do the same & I don't mean one that leans right either...just one that is coherent and well thought out. I mean you no disrespect either, but I'd like to be able to give you some praise instead of constructive criticism.

aware that there is presently no need to battle the Republicans? So used to blaming Repuiblicans that you just cannot stop even if they are not the problem. Nothing worse than a blind ideologue!

If this man is truly an educator, I must qualify for a PHD LOL!

Perhaps he should go back to college and study civics, history and politics....err... then again, maybe not. It seems over 70% of university educators are very liberal. They are indoctrinating our young.

I used to be liberal myself but found that as I aged, I became more in tune with reality.

Keyboard + Gibberish = Varuola. Your callous disregard for your own son as well as your pathetic excuses for bad parenting don't equal anything more than meaningless fodder for masses who need pseudointellectualism as an anchor. Sad, Bill. Bad, Bill. Take a long time out and contemplate reality.

Can't help but notice that with all the bashing, not one person has addressed the topic of the column - the ridiculous paranoia generated over a couple of misfits calling themselves the New Black Panthers.

OK, but that was not the topic of the column. Care to try again?
