Full story: ThisWeek Community Newspapers

Editor's note: Who wins with Walmart? The answer depends on whom you ask. This is the third in a four-part print series on the impact of Walmart stores on suburban central Ohio communities.

People from Westerville, like the people from Dublin, don't mind going to other parts of town to shop at Wal-Mart but they don't want them in their neighborhood. Well, folks there is an easy solution to your problem - once they build (and they're going to build) don't go there for employment and don't shop there and before long the center will once agein be nothing more than vacant store fronts.

Walmart won't affect the local shopping scene in the long run. We will patronize the local businesses as we do now with the exception of some grocery shopping, or made in China stuff we buy at Target and Meijer now. We may do the made in china shopping at Walmart depending on their prices and selection.

Boy I can't wait till they open, I won't have to go as far to steal, break into cars or even grab a few purses before heading home. Thanks Westerville and Mr. Hadler for the new chance for a better income.

You are right just like people want more wind power sites and more jails, just not in their backyards

I live in Westerville and will never shop at walmart and probably wil avoid that part of the city entirely. Hadler in my opinion is completely dishonest. And has created his own bad karma.
Also, maybe the haircutter just gave bad haircuts. People happy with their hairdresser couldn't care about where they are located.

Looks like some clueless people do not realize that there are walmarts (bigger stores than this one) in other areas of central Ohio. Why in the %^$^ would they drive past a larger supercenter to come to the smaller store here? That is a non sense argument. Are you afraid of those "miscreants and sychophants" from Lewis Center swarming in and denegrating this city or perhaps "those people" from Genoa Twp or Sunbury?

I personally go out of my way to go to the Meijer up by State St & Polaris, and my walmart up in Lewis Center. There is nothing wrong with those centers.. Normal people, not all the scummy mexicans and somalians go to those ones. Also - if you shop at 7am - none of the welfare and crack addicts will be there because they have just finished their beer and crack at 7am and are now finally in bed while their kids run around loose on their own.

Just saying....

The rants against the non-whites are demonstrating the ignorance of our community. Your perceptions are based on what you want to see, not reality.

I am glad that my children will have an opportunity to attend schools that feature diversity. It's too bad that some of you grew up without any exposure to other races and nationalities. The days of Central Ohio being 90% white are over.

and that is why i live, work, and play in New Albany! I don't want my kids around other cultures, or exposed to bad ways of life that some of these cultures live. No thanks. I don't want my kids getting YOUR kids' bad habits!! That's why my 2 kids will ONLY go to the Columbus Academy for K-12.

And then the bubble will burst, and your kids will head off to a major university where they will first be exposed to students from other countries.

Keep paying the big tuition dollars for Columbus Academy and the crazy high taxes of NA. Reality will come before you know and perhaps want it.
