All you folks who b*#@h err ahh complain about jobs going overseas, welcome to CHINA MART...This is where they sell the inferior junk that falls apart, use lead paint and who knows what else..Welcome...Go there and support China. But you won't see this cowboy there...Yep I will go to Kroger for my grub, and anyplace else that has no China in it. Except my shoes, can't seem to find any, unless they are made in, you guessed it, CHINA....Good Luck you herd mentality types to save 5cents. Sell out the USA.
So you don't shop at target, meijer, kohls, home depot, lowes, etc? Wow. You must not shop anywhere.

I live in Westerville, about 5 blocks from Westerville Square. The only issue I have is the traffic. At rush hour, it is sometimes unbearable to get from 270 to my house...I can only imagine what it will be like with people flocking to State Street during the holiday season. Hopefully, the Planning Commission will develop a solution before next summer.

We have a CHINA-MART in our area and it is not worth it folks. Yes, the traffic is worse AND the Chinese Department Store did not pay for any upgrades to the roads and signals, taxpayers did that. I would definitely charge them a 'development fee' if I were you. They plopped the CHINA-MART in the middle of a wetland, don't do anything regarding the environment, they planted those nasty bradford pear trees, and don't take much care of the landscaping around the store. Never picks up the garbage in their parking lot - just lets the wind blow it away and nearly every week we see shopping carts in the stream behind the store. They have a person that stands at the back of the garden center to check receipts - just in case a thief (wonderful customer service, right?)may want to take some of that Chinese junk. The store is always packed with very low income folks and if you have ever seen the people of wal-mart photos (check on the web)- they are right on! SCARY! I've even seen people changing their oil in the parking lot and leaving their mess behind. YOU ARE BETTER OFF WITH A TARGET STORE!!!!
They have wiped out all the mom and pop businesses in our area. I buy dogfood there and nothing else. I purchased meat once but take my advice and don't ever buy meat from them!! It's more like bone and fat.
As I Stated earlier, there is no difference between the two and they way they operate. Target did go after the more upscale crowd yet still with most products do come from China as well. Why, because wages in the US are too high for most cheap and easy to manufacture products.

And to those claiming Target is not Leftist, check your records. They have donated over 80% to leftwing causes. Yes, MoveOn.Org is railing against them right now, because they had the audacity not to donate to one of their choosen canidates, Mark Dayton, who campaigned on Raising Taxes on wealthy and corporations. Which hits them both in their corporate pockets and private pockets.. so yes they would be against this.

Just love how the Left loves to rail against Walmart.. yet curiously, never complains about thier largest competitor, Target. Could that be because Target is ProUnion, ProGay, ProDems with tons of money going to Dem politician PAC's? There's always the complaint that it puts out small mom&pop stores.. yep.. those same small mom&pops that charge a lot more for the same thing and give worse service? Always funny how more people work at Walmarts then at all the Mom&Pop's that close put together.. but less employment, higher prices.. that is what is good for America to preserve the old fashioned way of doing things.... Sorry, but I want better service and cheaper prices for the EXACT same product.
Wow, yeah it COULD be that Target doesn't "target" its own workers like Wal-Mart, but pays them well.

Could it be that Wal-Mart and the Waltons give HUGE amounts to the reTHUGlican Party? Yes, in fact that could definitely be the case...

If your worried about the people Walmart brings in, think about if Larry Flint built a one stop sex shop like Clintonville will have. Walmart is better than an outdated almost vacant shopping center.

You don't need one of Flynt's shops, you'll get screwed just fine at Wal-Mart....lol

I find it rather hilarious that while reading all of these China-this and China-that comments, that most of these people are likely typing these comments on a computing device that has many, if not most, of its parts made in china.

Walmart on "Black Friday" before Christmas reminds of a national gheographic film I saw a while ago showing a herd of wildebeast stampeding to cross a creek while a coulple of them became an aligator's lunch. You could say who runs Walmart is the alligator and the wilderbeast are all of the morons going there jumping over each other to find a so called "bargain" of Chinese made crap.

After reading Powell's comments it is clear he is an idiot. More like a whacko I'd say.

Hey Powell - do you think this heat will "blow over???" Maybe all these floods, hurricanes and tornados are just a terrible coincidence....

Trickle down has robbed the middle class of any increase in standard of living over the previous generation. We lost about 20 years of standard of living and still going until the conservative middle class wakes up and realizes they are supporting their own undoing. Trickle down should be re-mnamed for what it is "the rich are sucking it all up" It pays to have power influence and lobbyists.

Bob, you are exactly right. And if you indeed are a conservative, then we should have elected you for governor instead of right wing extremist Kasich. What has happened to normal conservatism?

One slight correction...I think wages have been stagnate for 30 (vs 20) years.

All lWalmart has for non fiction books are all the garbage books written by right wing Parrotts of Fixed Noise like Sarah Palin, Glenn Beck, Hannity, O'Reilly, and that right wing lard a-s-s-e=d so called preacher from San Antonio , John Haghee. These books are not even worthy of being used for toilet paper!

Not necessarily so, when it comes to PCs and processors, the US is pretty competitive. and if they don't make the part, they control the higher quality more tightly.

I know a lot of unemployed people who would be thrilled with a just barely above minimum wage job. It sure beats unemployment, especially when it runs out.

That's the thing, I made no mention if the quality was subpar. It is pretty much in response to all of the china blanket statements made.

I have went into WalMart (1) once in my life. Walked in, took a look, walked out, no money spent, and never went back to this thing.

Since when does Westerville think it's above having a WalMart.....all the local private owned shops will still get the same people to come buy overpriced stuff as before. If you don't like WalMart then don't shop there, let Capitalism run it's course. The other stores might have to lower their prices to compete and who benefits from that.....customers who then might spend more money and generate more revenue. If prices aren't competitive and people don't shop at WalMart then it will close down.
