Build the Wal-Mart! Enough meeting and complaining about it, pee or get off the pot! County officials need to do their job and make timely decisions. This has been going on long enough. Bring the Wal-Mart. There is NO decent shopping in Powhatan and there is still PLENTY of land. The limit on subdivision lot sizes allows for very comfortable "country living". If I were Wal-Mart and officials had taken this long, I would have gone just over the county line near Westchester Target and built the Wal-Mart just to spite the no-decision Powhatan county officials. We need to get the "Good Old Boys Club" out of office and get some forward thinking individuals in office.

Perhaps they should go to Westchester. That's a great idea!

Awesome. More products from China. More underpaid, underinsured workers (in Powhatan and China). More small family-owned Powhattan businesses going out of business.

Don't watch "WAL-MART: The High Cost of Low Price" ( http://www.walmartmovie.com/ ). If you do you'll have to pay an extra dollar for your XXXL flannel shirts and beef jerky.

Seriously, just go to Westchester. They already have a Target, movie theater, CiCis, five or so banks, and all the other crap you need. You already have to drive everywhere you have to go. What's the difference?

LOL! Here's a story from the site:

July 21st, 2010
Dog Food Diet

While waiting in line at my local Wal-Mart with a 50lbs bag of dog food, I had a woman ask me if I was going to feed my dogs. Now I’m a big fan of “here’s your sign” so this is how I responded…“No actually I’m on the dog food diet, you just carry around a small bag of dog food and any time you get hungry you eat a handful. Works great, last time I lost 30lbs, but I ended up in the hospital for a week.” By now everyone else in line is listening including the woman who asked the stupid question and I knew she was about to ask another one. I had to hold back laughter when she said “OMG, what happened? Did you get sick from all the dog food?” Without cracking a smile I responded,“Nope, I was sitting in the road licking myself when I got hit by a car.” Everyone in line busted out laughing and the woman stormed off. I have to add though, I didn’t make up the story myself I heard it on a comedy show and had to use it when the oppurtunity prosented itself
