I guess you voted NO wrote: <quoted text> I am not my brothers keeper and how will Casino be any different from bingo halls or the lottery? Its call self control, I have seen people spend countless amount of money on instant tickets in bingo halls (piles of them on the floor around their feet) in carry outs behind someone spending $30,$40,$50 a day on lottery numbers. And please be realistic, illegal gambling has been around forever, does anyone belong to a private Club. Jackpot, ripe-offs, footballs bowls, 50% 50% board and lets not forget the bookies. My uncle was a bookie in the 70's, my Anut ran a strip club in downtown Columbus, and hookers have been around forever. Oh and if something falls on you from the sky it would be drugs because it is raining dope in Columbus Ohio and the ground has not even been broker for the Casinos. So all the issue that anti-casino folks cry about already exist and have been here longer then most of them. Relax ... I was not being serious.

Last time I checked, alcohol and other troubles are already at both of these locations since they are just across the street from eachother. Stop being so stupid by thinking we live in an already perfect world. Well we don't. Stupid??? You're the one who missed the fact that I was making a joke. I was commenting on some of the fears people have about casinos. OVER YOUR HEAD!

The Arena District is for adults. Take your family to the zoo.

Teach them to loose the family money and then to expect Uncle Sam to pick up the costs. But don't plan on staying at a hotel on site, because the profit margin is not high enough for the casino operators. Oh, the good times the kids will have as long as the Blue Jackets and Clippers riff-raff stay away. I WAS NOT BEING SERIOUS!!! Get a clue!

If the press have their way it will appear the casino will be a big negative. Reports of break-ins, robberies, shootings, gambling related suicides and the like will scream at us from the front page or at the beginning of the news show. There might be the occasional feel good story about the geezer that hits it big but those will be few and far between. As someone has already said the crime is already there. But now it will be the casino's fault.

We have two children, and the Arena District is not a place that I would take my children for a kid friendly event.Yes there are a few places down in the area that have sports, but are you guys for real.Would you want to take young children toan area were there are many of people smoking and drinking. There is a spot for adults to play and a spot for our children to play, and thats not the Arena District. So what would it matter if we had a casino there anyway, children should not be in that area.

I think the arena district is a stupid choice for the casino location. I think that's partially why the blue jackets are going belly up. I hate driving to that area. Why can't they put it between Hilliard and Dublin, or somewhere more easily accessible?

1. Local Business will suffer. 2. A new and improved variety of crime will thrive. 3. More families will join the welfare ranks. 4. All gambling games are setup to reward the casinos, not players. 5. The setting: "free drinks, soft music, hidden exits, no clocks, lovely women, and "comps" all conductive to keep you inside the casino". 6. A few winners and a high majority of losers. 7. Ours will be a monopoly held by the very rich. 8. Constitutional Amendment - Insanity.

Name one casino in the midwest that ofers "Free drinks". If you had ever stepped foot in one you would realize that the casinos outside of Las Vegas charge you for your beer!

I don't like the idea of a casino there, and wonder why they couldn't put it outside 270 somewhere? Here's another spin on the casino: if it gets built at all, Columbus will be bored with in in a few years anyway. City Center, Mill Run, Brewery District...we are a fickle bunch of people here.

I don't want a casino inside my 270. I'm all for legalized gambling, just not in the form that has been approved and not a casino in C-Bus. It can be somewhere else in Central Ohio, but Franklin County voted the proposition down, hopefully wecan cause a constitutional crisis with home rule. If it gets built, we can be our fickle selves and make it go out of business
