Everyone that believes that walmart coming to westervill is a bad thing because of violence, minorities or whatever excuse is blind to the real world and a closet racist. I grew up in Westerville my whole life, graduated from Westerville North High School and violence and crime has always been in this city long before alcohol sales, walmarts, the minority excuse etc. Let's face it the westerville shopping center hasnt been much of anything since the lazarus closed (check your facts). This shopping center has had champ sports (you want to know how much crime that store had ask former employees..oh wait I was one there was always people stealing from there and they weren't minorities. The Big Lots there now is a poor excuse for a walmart. The area needs Revitalization (just like powell/23, or the walmart on Henderson Rd.) and I know a lot of people who could benefit from jobs this Walmart could provide. So before you brainwashed fox news supporters bash walmart for coming to Westerville, why not look at the economy and be thankful.

I can't believe that the city council voted to allow Walmart. Those vacant buildings meant so much to this city.

If all of you people don't like it then don't shop there! Its that simple!

The reason Walmart can expand and build more stores is because people are willing to buy their products, stand in their insanely long lines, and deal with their crappy customer service.

If you want to keep your local, small businesses around then continue to shop at them.

Its that simple. You people are acting like its the end of the world!!

What a bunch of whiners! So what? A freakin Walmart is moving into Westerville? You don't like it, then don't shop there. I'm surprised all you snobs in Westerville even allowed a Big Lots to be there. Oh and what about the Dollar Store across the street? OMG!

More people are killed and/or injured by falling prices in Walmart stores than at any other leading discount retailer. My grandmother was killed when the price dropped on kitty litter in isle 13.

These store fronts remained vacant so long, I thought they were declared historic sites -forever protected by those that protect historic sites.

Some people call the Walmart across from Easton the "ghetto of Easton". If you can't go to see the UN in Washington DC? Go to a Walmart!!!

What exactly are they going to be able to fit into a 108,000 square foot store?

They should build a skate park, or indoor bounce gym or a hobby store or target store or greenspace or anything but walmart. Could be a lions den superstore and there would be less outrage.

Actually, City Council has already been approached about a "Lions Den" Superstore and are currently ironing out the details.

Rebecca is spot on. People have repeatedly cheered for this place to remain empty. It happens to be Wal-Mart this time catching the heat.

The store is going to reflect the community. Morse Rd Wal-Mart compared to Powell Wal-Mart are entirely different worlds, just as Westerville's will have it's own identity. This would be no different with any other company.

Say goodbye to your vacant shopping center. It has been too long already.
