To all the big box lovers . You are all suckers of the monster corperate teat . You would have the Stonehedge boulders brought down if it ment you lazy butt ignorant people could go 3 miles less to get a pair of socks . Walmart is EVIL . the Angola drive-in is an institution . A family place where you can bring all ages to romp around and play in a safe place . Places like the drive-in are disappearing to fast. I too used to live in the city of Buffalo for 20 years . I absolutely hated it . The ignorant residents treated it like a toilet .I would constantly see people just drop trash on the ground just inches away from a trash barrel. After a rain here you smell trees ,grass and sweet soil . In the city you smell trash exhaust and filth. Not all citizens are that way but far too many are . A Wal Mart out here would destroy the environment ,create a traffic nightmare and wipe out three businesses . Namely Rite Aid , Jubilee, and the good old Ice cream stand. THEN in five years when they abandon the site because its not profitable it will start to look like the city of Buffalo . ONE GIANT TOILET. Let them build in Hamburg on southwestern blvd.Where the destruction can not be reversed And if you have any sence you will dump your stupid useless vehicles (SUV's) and get a car that makes scence. gas will NEVER go down it is time to get smart and conserve.Wise up America we are in deep trouble and have been for decades .
Peace to all

Another nail in the coffin of Angola. Wal-China, lol.

Keep buying those cheap crap goods. Its fitting most of the economic depress will be shopping at Wal-China since their jobs have all been shipped overseas, partly, because of these type of Mega stores.

The only people making money on this deal are the land owners that sell out and the town for taxes. Too bad a nice cheap night out with the family in their own cars not to bug anyone else. Not to say a great place for a double date back in the day. I guess now it will be in the back lot on a vedio camera at wal-mart. Safe sex if your out go in side and get what you need and then off to race's. Campers will be parked in the lots so more junk to look at right Stugots?

I agree its a said day. I spent 22 years in Angola, and have been to the drive-in many times growing up. We loved it.

Times are changing, and now its who cares about these small little historic markers. Its the corporate take over, get ready peasants.

Thats what kills me FD.

All of the good paying jobs are long gone, and this current Admin, and Free Trades are talking about all these newly created jobs. What they don't tell you are all these newly created jobs are low paying service jobs. All of the good manufacturing jobs are gone, for the low skilled Americans.

Again, global competition equals lower standard of living for low to mid skilled Americans. So, all the goones who support Wal-China, rejoice. Your $7 an hour job is right around corner, and you can help eliminate further competition in your area. The local stores of what is left in Angola might as well close their doors. Thanks god, I don't live there anymore, and this is a place I grew up in and graduated from Lake Shore High School.

Jake, you are right I grew up in North Collins and had a good time at the lake. I too left for the Army when I was 18 and my senior trip was Nam. I do go back about twice a year I still have family in the area and Angola I feel is slipping away slowly just a lot small town jobs and low pay and high cost of living now. I think all of the south towns area are bedroom towns where everyone works in the city or they travel over 40 miles to work. what a shame.

I agree FD on the bedroom community type of living. I wouldn't trade growing up in that area. I used to have alot of friends and good times on the Res, Sunset Bay, North Collins, Brant, Farmham, Gowanada, Fredonia, etc... Used to spend alot of time in those areas, and went to college in Fredonia.

I agree its sad to what is happening to that area. What is really sad are some of those small towns in Chautq and Cattaragu County like Cherry Creek, Dayton, I don't know how they survive other than small time farming.

Man, talking about this brings back alot of memories of that area, and how great it was growing up in that area.

You know our family also used to have big ties to Brant, and Farmham. Half of our family grew up in those areas for generations.

Keep voting in these idiot Democraps, and Conservaturds over and over again. Don't you love global competition, and these free foreign trade agreements.

Listen, get used to lower your standard of living to the level of a 3rd World Country.

Look I liked the drive-in as much as anyone else. However, its been unusable for how long? Its time to face the facts; it and Jubilee need to go. The jobs we be low paying but they are better than the jobs which that area produces now. None; our biggest problem in WNY is that we are always looking for one thing that will fix the area. ie... Bass Pro Shop. Progess is a slow process, first Walmart, Bass Pro, whatever. You need to attact people who will spend money; more money more businesses, preferabley not run by the town mafia, but I digress. Think of what it will do for your tax base. By the way I had to leave the area because of the lack of jobs; I stay gone because of the lack of modern conveniences and your ludicrous taxes partly to pay for patronage jobs. Read the one about the entire generation leaving WNY

You are speaking of three "Shrines" in the Angola district and should remain there for the next millennium.

I think that Angola taxes are about right for the town, as it is a place of utter splendor, one can go right to the remains of the Du Drop Inn, and then to the place where Nickys Starlight used to be, take a drunken walk to the place where Stans bar used to be.

Have owned homes in Lancaster, west seneca, and own one in buffalo n Angola currently. Love the lake!!! Angola does a crappy ass job with what it has to work with. Look at main st in Hamburg, east Aurora , even Eden. Like Walmart or not or any other business. My money ends up being spent in other towns because Angola has nothing to offer. Drive ins are currently attracting tourists because they r so few n far between. Not ours cause its gone!!! I buy my gas from the Rex, my groceries from buffalo most other goods from Hamburg.add that up on a weekly basis. At least 300.00 weekly on a lite week.add it up politicians and residents reciting change. Also no sidewalks, few restutaunts ,mostly go out to eat in Derby, Hamburg n sprigville, also buffalo. I will give credit that the town finally seems to be tearing down some of the half burnt drlapatated rat infested houses tho.wake up n turn it around.look at our fellew main streets springville,Eden,Hamburg, easy Aurora , and take heed.
