Once again, Moscoto is touting his "GREEN" development. The only thing green about is the money he will be making. He is merely leading the sheep to slaughter - the only ploy he could think of to get the City Council (who for the most part is lacking the frontal lobe of their brains) to vote for his project. Let's face it, he is out of money and needs this SAD. His trucker investor boys are getting tired of paying his tab!

Water is not the issue here - whereever land is developed, or whoever provides the water, the land will still be developed. It has always been and will always be.

There is plenty of water. And when we start getting low on water, we'll find some more. That's how it works in the West. Get over it.

"If not, the city has no business allowing continued growth."

Growth is good, it keeps the city afloat especially since many of its program income is coming from permiting and impact fees from builders. And it gives business and jobs to many of the citizens in the city. If people are buying then they should be building.

Hey I have a great idea, let's build another golf course and then give it all the water it needs at a discounted rate. While we get a rate increase to help support the fat cats. Mayor exactly how much land do you have up there?

Kenny. Keep your stubby hands off of Moongate Water. You are not god. You cannot take that business away and then have the city run it only to sell water to county residents who have no vote or say so as to city services. I can see it now, expensive water for city residents, outrageously expensive water for those of us outside of the city limits. Hands off..

So the city steals the Moongate Water Company's water rights. How does that increase the supply of water for this area? What happens in another ten or twenty years and we need more water? Where does the city go at that time? Do we continue to sack other communities like Hatch, Deming, WSMR, etc in order to feed the unmanaged and uncontrolled growth of Las Cruces?

For western states, water is a precious commodity. Until we figure out how to change weather patterns, desalinate and bring water from the oceans, or squeeze rocks we have a major issue facing all of us. The political wackos who espouse 'eminent domain' are not really doing justice in this matter except advancing their own selfish and narrow interests.
