Spansion cuts more jobs

NOR flash vendor Spansion Inc. acknowledged that the company cut an undisclosed number of jobs Monday .

Then I shall disclose that it was about 30 people at Fab25. Spansion, wise for once, opted to give them 2 months severence. How refreshing.

SP1 was a disaster from the beginning. I would say 'live and learn' but they can't be bothered. Blame the market, the economy. Everyone but themselves.'Forcasting' and 'wishing' are two different things. Even now they are in there telling everyone how great things are going. Sheesh.

SP1 was very good at one time.

SP1 was a marvel. No doubt. It was also built and had costly setbacks at a time when a profit had yet to be made.(and STILL hasn't, btw)

Through blatant mismanagement they robbed Peter to pay Paul who put them so far into the red, they can't see daylight without a judge ordering a discharge of it all.

Giving the board members, the new CEO, the outgoing CEO and the outgoing CFO money while several thousand others the pink slip without notice or severance was not a wise move. One they have not gotten cleanly away with(lawsuit)and one that the high-tech communities of the affected areas will not forget.

Yes and most of the 2000 that got pink slips have lost their homes because of this. You might see some on the street corners in Austin holding up HELP signs. Thanks Spansion!!!!!!!!!
