Some slimy little bastard 'borrowed' my name to make that post. I don't know why Topix allows crap like that. If I ever find out who impersonated me, I'll fix his little wagon.

I know Rick Shimer's wife Pam from OU nursing school. I have been to their home in Bixby on several occassions writing the dreaded OU nursing papers as a group. What a wonderful family man that loved his wife, children and also grandchildren so much!! Rich always made us feel welcome in his home and always had kind and thoughtful things to say about his wife, children and grandchildren. Keeoping all the family in my thoughts and prayers!!!

Sincerely,

Two super nice guys, and a huge loss for our community. I was fortunate to speak with them on several occasions, and even got an opportunity to fly with them both last April in this aircraft. These two were very skilled pilots. No one knows what happened up there in that cockpit... please try to refrain from criticism on this topic. Let it be a place for friends and family to remember these guys.

Why don't you create a free online account with Topix (aka "topix") and register your screen name, Mr. Schneider?

That way no one can impersonate you.

Before the Tulsa World required registered screen names, several people claimed to be me. They even posted stuff which I would never talked about and sometimes never did either.

One idiot kept claiming that he saw me in a certain Tulsa park and I hadn't even been there in about 5 years.

Both of these men worked as volunteers with Oaks Mission over in Oaks, Oklahoma in extreme Northern Cherokee County. It was great that they did that.

My younger brother and sister went to Oaks Public Schools in the Early 1960s when the folks had a dairy farm south of Oaks. Students living at the mission also attended the local school.

I was a freshman and a sophomore at Northeastern State College in Tahlequah at that time.

Is this the same Rick Shimer that worked at Edgcomb in Tulsa in the late 1980's and early 1990's? AT that time he had a wife named Ellie who was a Marketing Mgr. at Bass Pro Shop. He also had 2 sons is would be about 64 years old.
Anyone know for sure?

I've known Joe casually over a few years around the classic car community and through my job. Always polite, respectful and well spoken. I enjoyed time around Joe and was saddened to know I will not see him locally on occasion as I did. My thoughts and prayers to his wife and family. Roger
