Hey, tina. You are WRONG again. What you said happened 16 years ago, not in 2007, says Daily Mail. Just read because: The aim is not to establish truth, but to maintain an impression. So back to Daily Mail, UK - So let’s be clear. Yes: global warming is real, and some of it at least has been caused by the CO2 emitted by fossil fuels. But the evidence is beginning to suggest that it may be happening much slower than the catastrophists have claimed – a conclusion with enormous policy implications. The first time the Met Office made this type of statement it was no significant change since 1995 and Phil Jones made the statement. Here's summer; June, July and August 2012, compared to Phil Jones 1995 thru 2012. http://data.giss.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/gistemp/do_... The same summer compared to 1997 http://data.giss.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/gistemp/do_... The same summer, compared to 2000 thru 2012 http://data.giss.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/gistemp/do_... From the article: "This means that the ‘plateau’ or ‘pause’ in global warming has now lasted for about the same time as the previous period when temperatures rose, 1980 to 1996. Before that, temperatures had been stable or declining for about 40 years." Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/articl... An article by David Rose appears today in the Mail on Sunday under the title:‘Global warming stopped 16 years ago, reveals Met Office report quietly released… and here is the chart to prove it’ It is the second article Mr Rose has written which contains some misleading information, after he wrote an article earlier this year on the same theme – you see our response to that one here. http://metofficenews.wordpress.com/ Firstly, the Met Office has not issued a report on this issue...

More rubbish from Rose. Take a look at the long term picture: does it really look like warming has stopped. http://www.woodfortrees.org/plot/hadcrut4gl/f... Jones represents hundreds of climate scientists who know that the "pause" is meaningless. Curry represents, well, herself: a crank on the fringe making claims that don't stand up. http://tamino.wordpress.com/2011/11/05/the-re... Climate science actually expects record high temperature again within the next few years- they've been held down recently by short term cooling effects. Rose of course has left himself a get out clause. "This ‘plateau’ in rising temperatures does not mean that global warming won’t at some point resume."

Yes, but how much warming occurred? 2011 as compared to 2000 thru 2011 http://data.giss.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/gistemp/do_... Last winter as compared to the same time period http://data.giss.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/gistemp/do_... Most recent cold period, November 2011 to April 2012 http://data.giss.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/gistemp/do_... Spring 2012 http://data.giss.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/gistemp/do_... Summer 2012 http://data.giss.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/gistemp/do_... The Met Office updated their data base and the results have been published. The data speaks for itself. Looks like NASA agrees.

A 16 year 'pause' following a 16 year increase, following a 30 year cooling/stable time period. What's to worry about. http://www.woodfortrees.org/plot/hadcrut4gl/f...

Warming hasn't "paused" in the last 16 years. What's to worry about is another century or two of increase.

What 'short term cooling effects' are occurring? Of course it will warm again. And it will cool again. This has always happened and will happened again.

You're on record as saying we can expect 30 years of cooling. Reality is going to spend the rest of your life smacking you over the head with the truth that you were wrong.

We are by some estimates at the top of our current solar cycle. Yet the current temps aren't more than .03*C or .05*C warmer than the last 16 years. http://metofficenews.wordpress.com/ This solar cycle is predicted to be very long. 14 years is the NASA prediction. If true, then we will have about 10 years of lower solar activity before the next cycle begins. CO2 may be able to trap heat, but it takes the sun to make the heat.
