Full story: The Florida Times-Union

Two Yulee High School students were "grateful" Monday when they learned that a federal judge ruled that the Gay-Straight Alliance can meet on campus and have the same privileges as other student groups.

Kudos to the ACLU, Judge Henry Adams, Hannah Page, and Jacob Brock.

Although I fully support GSA's I seriously doubt anything useful will come out of these things.

My experience with gay people and gay organizations is they can't organize a sock draw with 1 pair of socks.

Naturally you aren't keen on them. No one will give you their AIM address, no matter how many times you put out a general plea.

Yet he still regularly asks for people's AIM in threads, including those of posters who represent themselves as 13 year olds.

You must have a lot of free time to so use it. Praiz!

Well all I can say is that I've never seen him request information from 13-year-olds.

I hope the courts order the individual adminstrators to pay the legal costs. The attempt to ban GSA's is so blatantly illegal, there is no way one can claim these administrators were acting in good faith in pursuit of official duties.

I agree.

The Equal Access Act is over 25 years old, signed by President Reagan. So it's not a "new" law or an unknown law.

The fact that school districts, who are SUPPOSED TO BE teaching about the First Amendment, frequently violate this federal law, and deny American citizens, i.e. students, their RIGHTS, is infuriating.

SUE THEM ALL !

Maybe the average taxpayer will finally do something when they see how much of their tax money is violated by these UN-American administrators, who constantly break the law.

No, it was all about prejudice, bias, hatred, bigotry, oppression, discrimination, gender discrimination, stereotyping, homophobia, and heterosexism. And they allowed violence to be perpetrated upon innocent students who are GLBT or perceived that way for years. They just looked the other way. I went to Nassau County schools. I personally saw how it was. It was a nightmare; probably equivalent to being in prison to a child.

And they also allowed bullying, intimidation, harassment, prejudice, bias, hatred, bigotry, oppression, discrimination, gender discrimination, stereotyping, homophobia, and heterosexism to be perpetrated upon innocent students who are GLBT or perceived that way. I forgot to mention the word intimidation in the list of things describing the school board.

I don't see why school board members haven't been prosecuted and/or lost their jobs and/or them personally being sued for I would think that they broke federal, state, and constitutional laws. Why do they still have their jobs?! Impeach Superintendent Dr. John L. Ruis!!

Nassau County, Florida rarely makes national headlines but they did with this ACLU case. Nassau County, Florida has numerous drug busts and sex crimes in their local news. There was an article one time talking about the numerous sex offenders in the county. Other controversial news here involves stuff likes passing ordinances, the teaching of evolution in school, gay rights issues, banning adult porn and adult stores and putting restrictions on bars and alcohol. The churches are also involved in a lot of things that go on in this county. I believe they also made national headlines with this case too:

Remember the famous Nassau County, Florida child porn case? Why did none of these articles appear on Topix? I've seen news of other sex offenses and crimes in Nassau mentioned on the local Topix forum boards of Nassau County, FL but this was huge and it didn't even make it to Topix. I'm shocked! Well here are the articles, read about this famous case that was said in some of the articles to be the biggest child porn case in Nassau County ever. I've heard others say the biggest in the state of Florida and others say the biggest kiddie porn case in the nation. I think it made CNN or national headlines, not positive on that though:

Daily Horoscope for December 31

Aquarius

The more you want to control someone, or someone wants to control you, the more difficult life will be today. It's a Full Moon and a lunar eclipse, so the last thing you should do now is to act as though you own this person, or tell them what to do, because it will be an instant recipe for rebellion and trouble. Mars is retro in your house of significant others and open enemies after all. If you don't want to spoil the evening's celebrations you'll have to make compromises, and hope that this other person will do the same. Don't let the fuss stop you having a very happy New Year's Eve.
