See, that's the thing...we don't get to vote, because it won't be put on a ballot. Civil rights are not subject to the vote of the people, because rights are inalienable - that means they can't be taken away. They can only be given. Women have the same right, to hold our bodies as our OWN property, that men do.

Freaking deal with it.

If you disagree with abortion, don't have one.

Show some respect for your DADDY.

You are no one and nothing and your hatred of women is
disturbing. If you want to live in a country where
women are told what to do and do it or they are killed,
move to Iran or Afghanistan.

Abortion is and always will be legal in this country so if
you want a 'bitch' to kick around, buy a dog. Women are
rising to power and there's not a gdamn thing you can do
about it....BOY!!!!!!!!!!

Obama supports a woman's right NOT to stay pregnant if she doesn't want to be. Your anti-choice HYSTERIA is duly noted...and rejected.

There's something deeply flawed about women who reject their own rights. What do these gals think, that once the State has the authority to decide whether or not a woman gestates, it will never use that authority in reverse?

The stupidity and lack of foresight astounds me.

Pity that it will be too late, when the State makes abortion mandatory (given the hue and cry about 'anchor babies' especially) and these gals' daughters are REQUIRED to abort...the big picture continues to be beyond their grasp.

This whole argument is useless.

There are three groups in play:

1) Voters who want abortion to stay legal
2) Voters who want abortion to be illegal (but don't have any answers about how you punish criminals)
3) Legislators who _ALL_ want to keep abortion legal

There are NO legislators who want to make abortion illegal. EVER.

Those legislators who get elected running on an anti-abortion platform will _NEVER_ make abortion illegal. They would lose their one and only issue that gets them elected. It's in the best interest (in fact, it's their ONLY interest) to make sure abortion STAYS legal so they can get their voters up in arms.

Basically, the people who want abortion to be illegal have no chance and are getting tricked by their legislators.

Basically, whether or not it's 'legal' is moot...it won't be eradicated, legal or not. The right's problem is, that as long as women are asked to vote against our own rights, we won't. We keep trying to look at this thing logically, when there is NO LOGIC to be found. The hypocrisy is appalling. Most women will be voting against Republicans in 2012, because the GOP has lost it's credibility. We need to eject this shit from our platforms, and recognize that the 'Pledge to Life' is completely destroying our party.

It sucks big time for you that we aren't, doesn't it.

Yep, it is pretty stupid that we had morality and illegal abortions only the first 200+ years of this country.....when the old white hairs in Washington wanted willing and able interns.

Abortion wasn't addressed as a legal concept until 1903 in this country. When the Constitution was ratified, women had the same rights to self-determination as men do to this day........

I totally agree, Shovel. During the time when the early American feminists were fighting to obtain the right to vote for all women, there were quite a few stupid conservative women who thought women shouldn't vote. I see the same kind of stupidity and lack of foresight here.

Women's reproductive rights include abortion, and also the right to use contraception to PREVENT unwanted pregnancy so an abortion won't be necessary. I think prevention of unwanted pregnancy is always better than abortion, but sometimes the birth control can fail for various reasons.
President Obama supports a woman's right to use contraception to prevent unwanted pregnancy and her right to obtain an abortion in the event that the BC fails. The Mittster DOESN'T support those rights. That's why neither he won't get my vote, and neither will any other repukelian candidate.
As to your last idiotic comment, you're obviously too stupid to understand the phrase WANTED PREGNANCY. Thankfully, your stupidity isn't my problem.
News flash: conservatives aren't threatening to take away your precious birth control. That's a piece of fiction the Socialist/Democrat handlers have cooked up to sway weak-minded libs like yourself.

I just don't want to be forced to PAY for your damned screw pills. Go ahead, bang anybody that'll buy you a drink. I don't care. But I'm not paying for your fun. You don't pay for mine.

You should spend less time on your back and try working for the 40 bucks to pay for your own screw pills.

There are DOZENS of laws that conservatives have put out in the just the last year which are designed SPECIFICALLY to invade on the right of women.

Transvaginal ultrasound? Do you have ANY valid excuse for this?

Second, "screw pills"? You realize that MOST women who are on birth control are actually on it to regulate their cycles, not so they can "screw".

Third, However NONE of the men on viagra are on viagra for any reason other than screwing and you better believe that everyone is paying for that.

Fourth, plus paying for baldness treatments.

And lastly, you FUCKING HYPOCRITE, do you have any idea how much I have to pay for that I object to? Like the 500 TRILLION dollars we've spent trying to prove that George W Bush is a good son?

Not legally, and it is still not done legally. Congress has never passed a bill making abortion legal.

Abortion predates the legal system by A LOT.

It's been around THOUSANDS of years.

Trying to outlaw abortion would be like trying to outlaw the wheel. It's not going to happen

So, you would rather that cops don't make any money working overtime?

Are you equally upset that many cops in Conn moonlight directing traffic for the Foxwoods casino?

We know Romney is anti-cop, anti-fireman, anti-teacher. Sounds like you are taking it further, you want cops to be poor.
