Richard Dawkins tweets on abortion: ‘any fetus is less human than an adult pig’

Mar 16, 2013 | Posted by: roboblogger | Full story: freerepublic.com

It would seem the pro-life movement has acquired an unlikely supporter. On Wednesday, Richard Dawkins, a vocal proponent of atheism and the author of The God Delusion, posted a provocative tweet about abortion: With respect to those meanings of "human" that are relevant to the morality of abortion, any fetus is less human than an adult pig.

I guess after reading Bob the Quantum_Bot [Jerry Springer show] posts attacking and making fun of belief thought it might be interesting to see how atheists react to the same.
You may be looking for a university class in philosophy
and metaphysics
and mistake Topix threads for this?
Topix has freedom of speech.
Some of the posters do remind one of "birthers" as was mentioned by another poster.
Read the condescending posts on the atheist threads and see if they make any sense to you?
Proof of God has mystified philosophers for ages, morons making fun of God are a bit of fun to answer.
I am undecided in belief. Reading the atheist threads has turned me against at least some of these atheists.
One of Bob's recent posts supports my point of view. In it, he explains that he began posting much as I do, respectfully and focused. It was the behavior of the theists that changed his approach. I suppose I could change mine as well, but you wouldn't want to see it. I am also quite capable of brilliant cruelty. Restraint is a choice for me, not a necessity.

Nothing moronic about making fun of god(s). They're useful for little else. It undermines silly superstitions in gods, witches and ghosts. The less superstitious the world the better.
Nothing moronic about making fun of atheists on Topix.

Real atheists seem nothing like the posts on Topix.
Most of my atheist friends worked on President Obama's campaign and did not make fun of believers. Certainly Not during the 2012 campaign when we won with believers votes.

I disagree. It's constructive to point out patently absurd and harmful superstitions. Idle attendance on the atheist threads merely to make fun of people, atheists or religionists, is uncalled-for. Satire is one thing, mocking another.

Satire and mocking are close to one another.
Bob seems the queen of mocking?

You're a full of sh*t lying theist with no proof of god.

Now that you realise you don't have any arguments to make against atheists, you choose to attack them instead.

Shame on you immoral theist, shame on you.

Nope I'm a liberal. Liberals believe in standing up for human rights. When you are pro-life you are standing up for human rights. Liberals want to legislate morality way more than republicans. We should never have seceded the moral high ground to them. It makes liberals afraid of their own shadow. That is why we a stuck with republican light presidents like Obama and Clinton. Further more all these pro-abortion rights politicians like Hillary that claim that a fetus is not alive have lost all credibility to lecture other people about climate change, and evolution. Climate change and evolution are much harder to understand than what constitutes a living organism. You learn that on day one of 8th grade biology. I'm sure you believe in dictating other peoples choices yourself. If you think stealing should be illegal then you believe in your right to dictate other peoples choices.

Incorrect, your first point at least, not bothering with the rest of it. Liberals are all for protecting what they feel deserves it more just like the conservatives of the US. Two sides to the same coin, and the only difference is which way they face, and never do the two face the logical direction. The only reason I find liberals more tolerable is that they are at least more worried about defending the smaller populations than the conservatives, but do not think for one second the two are really that different from each other.

Ridicule is a great technique when demonstrating how silly the theists claims are. It shines a light on the darkness of superstitious nonsense that has held us as a species back at least 500 years.

But we see the devoted belief in the sky wizards dwindling as churches close at record numbers and god has been reduced to... What started the Big Bang?

The theists have no answers and are completely unable to employ anything except logical fallacies. We see the theists failing on a hundred fronts and that is a comforting thought :)

Yes, but we should be careful to try to attack the belief and not the person.

Lincoln called Bob the 'Queen of Mocking',(or similar). I think Lincoln sees himself as being even-handed, but I don't see that he is. He offers no justification for superstition and usually fails to recognise any of the harm it does. He argues that non-believers should respect seriously harmful superstitions and he criticises us for failing to do so.

Lincoln, arguably you’re more mocking than Bob. You attend the atheist threads and offer little relevant to non-believers, just your personal ‘faith’. I have seen NI suffer 25 years of sectarian violence which could have been avoided had children not been segregated in religiously denominated schools and I see British schools continue with the tradition. I am expected to tolerate unelected clergy on everything from school boards to the Upper House of Parliament. I see British schoolchildren leave schools with scorn for evolution and the clergy say nothing. I and my contemporaries have been dragged to church against our will and had to lie all our childhoods about our disgust for superstition or be punished for not showing respect for it. So you’re not being even-handed Lincoln. At best you’re being obtuse and something of a troll. You seem in a weak position to criticise Bob, who at least keeps to strictly rational arguments on an ‘atheist’ thread.

Each and every post of Lincoln's can be answered by simply saying... And? So what's your point?

He tries to attack and annoy he just says anything to troll and try to get a reaction. Many have tried to have a conversation with him but either he is only interested in trolling or lacks the intelligence for an actual debate. Most likely both.

Seriously you could make a program to do what he does a human wouldn't even be needed. Hence why I white sheeted him.
