How Rush Limbaugh's Cynical Attacks on Planned Parenthood Could Raise Abortion Rates

Apr 30, 2013 | Posted by: roboblogger | Full story: Daily Kos

Right wing talk radio host Rush Limbaugh has ramped up his cynical smear campaign on Planned Parenthood--which he refers to as an "abortion factory." I say cynical because the campaign makes it painfully clear that--like much of what he discusses on his sad show--Limbaugh really has doesn't care or understand what Planned Parenthood is all about, ... Bunk. There are many clincis offering services to the underprivileged and shocker, they actually offer mammograms and they do not kill unborn babies.

EEGADS ladies wake up, this organization doesn't care about your well being. They're a money making, baby killing factory.

Do they offer any services for women who regret their abortions? Does the government dole out any money to organizations who help women deal with these regrets?

Something wrong with this picture don't ya think?

Rush Limbaugh is a MORON, as far as I'M concerned. What's amazing to me is that the moron is still on the air, but luckily I don't have to listen to his right-wing b.s.

I went to Planned Parenthood quite often when I was 18+ and had just moved to a big city. I knew that if I chose to have sex at some point, I DIDN'T want to get pregnant, so I needed reliable contraception to PREVENT that unwanted outcome. They charged very LITTLE money for that contraception, and I was very grateful to get it. I would have had to pay MORE anywhere else.

The Planned Parenthood facility I went to was terrific. The medical staff were very knowledgable and helpful, they answered all my questions on preventing unwanted pregnancy and STD's, and finally set me up with the contraception that I felt would work best for me.

Thanks to Planned Parenthood and its wonderful staff, I never got pregnant before the time when I WANTED to become a mother, which wasn't until my 30's. I never got a sexually transmitted disease either. I went OFF birth control when I decided I was ready for the responsibility.

People who have "issues" with Planned Parenthood have a simple solution; don't use its services. They're just pissed because they can't take PP's services away from ALL women. Tough luck for them.

Only in your head, and that's because your "vision" is skewed.

PP is a healthcare clinic. They offer medical services to women and men. They also offer adoption referals. They offer those services on a sliding scale.

Somewhere around 40% of those clinics don't even DO abortions.

They are not a mental healthcare facility, nor a social institution. BOTH of those kinds of facilities DOES receive gov't money, including Crisis Pregnancy Centers.

They never CLAIMED to do mammos, just breast cancer screening, which a Clinical Breast Exam IS, it's the first step in DETECTING breast cancer.

Stop listening to the blowhard. He hasn't a clue.

Yeah they fund plenty of BS under Faith Based Initiatives which takes money from the tax payer and supports religion......UNCONSTITUTIONAL .

The women with regrets are guilt tripped by phallic worshipping beliefs that tell them their only worth is to reproduce. I have ZERO regret.

Mr. Shoots Blanks sure shoots off his mouth a lot with nothing but opinion based BS. Any woman that would listen to that lard azz has mental issues to begin with.

Refresh my memory....how many times has Mr. Shoots Blanks been married?

I lost count.

When he croaks, one of those ex's (who were paid hush money as part of the divorce settlements) will come forward with a tell-all book and blankie's 'faithful' will learn of his preference for men and running off to the dominican republic to act it out. More conservative deceptionalism.

Not surprising that you believe that subsidizing your contraception, so that you could have indiscriminate sex, is the responsibility of the tax payers. Just another loser with their hand out attempting to justify the trough from which they feed.

Dip$hit ... Planned Parenthood is subsidized by the federal government. If you had even a modicum of reading comprehension you would see that I stated that their contraception was "SUBSIDIZED" not free.

Kettle meet pot in regard to assumptions.

Your ignorance is only outdone by your arrogance.

Really ... my implications were more clear than the actual words that I used?

It appears that once again "your" assumptions are incorrect. Once again you might try getting an education not just a GED ... might help with that reading comprehension problem that you have.

Do you work in either the healthcare or social work? If not I doubt you are qualified to state that only women who are guilt tripped have regrets about abortion. Also, are you a lawyer, if not your first statement is also questionable.

So you'd rather her end up pregnant at a young age with no means to support herself and kid(s) so instead has to turn to government support which would cost us 100s of times more? Did you really think your response through? Let me guess, you don't rely on the government for anything correct? You don't use roads, don't rely on the military to protect your rights to babble ignorant screeds, don't rely on the police to enforce laws, don't rely on firefighters to protect your home, don't rely on (subsidized) fossil fuels to power your (subsidized) car which you bought using loans from a (subsidized) bank and don't rely on (subsidized) farmers to provide you with sustenance? Wow, you must be your own country!

I think that abortion should be compulsary for any christian fundamentalists who think that the world is only 12,000 years old. Maybe we could backdate it and terminate all of them born in the last 99 years. Then the world would be a better place.

So, you're saying to act like an extremist by killing someone because their views are different from your own? Yeah, that'll solve everything.

Those are the same extremist ilk that blew up abortions clinics.
