Again -- It's hypocritical of them to use the CO law to their advantage while consistently working to undermine that law and preaching the opposite.
What do you imagine they're [Catholic hosp and attorney(s)] saying behind closed doors? "If they'd allowed the personhood bill to go through, we'd willingly pay through the nose? It's their own fault!"
Their lawyers, in Colorado, did indeed "resort" to using Colorado law in their defense.

What should they have used? Vermont law?

They couldn't use Church law in court, Katie.

Civil law is applied in civil courts.

No one worked to "undermine that law" here, Katie.

You DO want them to be treated equally under the law, yes?

So, you think that the fetus IS a person, or what? What's your argument here?
They're in a Colorado court-Colorado law dictates the case.
Law is trumping religion here-you should be turning cartwheels. What's your issue with this?
THE CC thinks the fetus is a person with more rights than the damn mother.

My issue is the church preaches one thing and does another. Apparently their hospital did not attempt to save the twins per the fathers request. But in Ireland the catholic hospital allowed a woman to die who could have been saved, not to mention Arizona where they ex-communicated a nun for allowing a woman 11 weeks pregnant a life saving abortion. They are all over the map with their BS.

Did you purposely miss the point? There was humor in it.

He is a "devout". The church could reinstate the Inquisition and he would defend it without seeing a problem.
