"Herring in 2012 lobbied for a law that requires anyone performing abortions at an abortion clinic to be a physician with privileges to admit patients to a local hospital."

How terrible is that??? Herring actually wanted the abortionist to have the ability to care for a woman after her abortion!! What IS this world comming too?

"The state's only abortion clinic has been unable to obtain the privileges for its out-of-state physicians and has filed a federal lawsuit challenging the law."

If they can't comply with the law, then they should be out of business.

No other form of clinic is required to have admitting privileges, and it is irrelevant to the health of the woman, who can be admitted regardless. Her reproductive rights are not dependent on her doctor's status.

Let's say the only local hospital is catholic. They aren't going to give this doctor admitting privileges, because catholic administrators are pigs. That hospital CANNOT deny her treatment should something go wrong (which is fairly rare anyway). Where is the need for that specific doctor to be there?

If someone believes a law is unjust, they can file suit as long as they have standing. This law is both unjust and vindictive.

Totally agree. Considering that Bryant is a governor who insists on that useless abstinence-ONLY in Mississippi's public schools, this move against abortion providers isn't surprising.

And the LAST place I would voluntarily go to for medical treatment is a Catholic hospital.
