Brother of my ancestor, helped write the constitution. His brother was a brigadier general in the Revolution, but was not allowed to hold public office since he was a presbyterian.

I have read the document. You have not, and hate that document. It promises no endorsement of religion at all. Don't like it? Move to mexico, where the church runs a lot of things. You'd like it, cops have unlimited abuse, too.

Don't like it? Leave. This is a Christian nation formed by Christians and based on Christian Principles. And this country has been blessed for it. Just look around the world at all the other countries. America, the Christian Nation is the most blessed nation in the world...."Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord". Don't like our religion and how we do thing around here? Move to one of the Arab Countries where they kill homos and anyone else who will not conform to their religion and rules. Don't like that? Move to Russian where atheism abounds! Surely there is some place on this earth where you'll fit in.

Oh PLEASE, what utter NONSENSE. Here are the first words of the First Amendment of the American Bill of Rights:

"Congress shall make no law respecting the establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof..."

This directly prohibits ANY religion from being established as the national religion in America, and that INCLUDES Christianity. Therefore, the United States is NOT a "Christian nation," no matter how many times militant religionists insist that it is.

No religion on the planet sanctions murder so get a grip. This is not about religion its about morals, dignity and self worth. No mother should ever be so diminished that she thinks murdering her unborn child is the only way.

You're quoting the Pledge of Alliegience, and that phrase wasn't even in the original.

The DOI is not a governing document. It was a kissoff letter the the King.

Our Constitution grants all citizens the right to "life, liberty and property", including the "property" that is our own body.

Still, if you want to go there, a woman's right to "life, liberty and pursuit of happiness" demands that she is the only one allowed to decide if she will continue her own pregnancy.

Ugh, so lame... That's all you've got... I guess you would be in favor of euthanasia than too? Just gross. Suicide would be justified according to your reasoning???

The truth is not lame, and it's all I need to refute the other poster.

Not only is suicide not illegal, but I have no problem with a terminally ill person being able to end their own lives, and not have to wait in pain to die.

Not that any of that was really relevant.

It is EACH woman's decision whether or not to continue a pregnancy. If it isn't YOUR pregnancy, it isn't your decision, simple as that.

Motherhood is OPTIONAL, not required. Which means NO woman has to be a mother unless she WANTS to. Deal with it.
