We've been scouring the data for clues as to what we should learn from what happened tonight as President Obama relatively easily claimed a second term.

Yeah, it was a soup sandwich back then. I wish we COULD have free markets with no government oversight, but time and time again it's been proven we can't.
Right, that is why Capitalism fails because of the Human factor involved and why we have Socialism.

You seem to be so confident, how about looking into it and getting back with me?
It's real easy to calculate. Let's say I am the government, and you are a corporation. I give you $10,000,000 and you make $1,000,000 in pure profit. Let's say you have no other loopholes and you actually pay taxes on the $1,000,000.(Which makes you exceedingly rare in the corporate world.) Let's assume the taxes are 15% or $150,000. Now let's calculate how much it cost you. You received $10,000,000. You put $850,000 in your own pocket.
Don't give me the lie you will go broke with such outrageous taxes. You didn't pay anything, you received. You are ahead $850,000, and you didn't do anything to earn it.

Now if you were like most other corporations, you would simply pay your accountant to find enough deductions to cover all taxes.

Consider:

The New York Times has reported that General Electric, the sixth-largest corporation in the United States, earned $14.2 billion in 2010, but disclosed in federal filings that it had no federal tax liability.

Here is another quote for you:

Last November, Citizens for Tax Justice and the
Institute on Taxation and Economic Policy issued a
major study of the federal income taxes paid, or not
paid, by 280 big, profitable Fortune 500 corporations.
That report found, among other things, that 30 of the
companies paid no net federal income tax from 2008
through 2010. New information for 2011 shows that
almost all these 30 companies have maintained their
tax dodging ways.

So there you go.

I bet the employees, the workers paid plenty; while the corporations and their masters, paid little to nothing. Remember 24% of all corporations don't pay federal taxes. Of course they still have lobbying fees to make sure they won't ever have to pay taxes.
And the Heritage Foundation is extremely greatful, they should be able to cover Tea bagger DeMint's salary plus a bonus.

Yes, there are millions and they can be identified by the large red mark they have left from pressing the ear up next to the radio while listening to America's favorite fat draft dodging pill popping JUNKIE, Rush Limpballs.

But, like Limpballs, they are dying off.

I agree!!!

Texans will be fed up of the Feds raising them for money to bail out liberal bankrupt states. The Feds will deny Texas independence and then the revolution will star.

Soon the makers will be tired of the takers. But the takers will cross the line when they, after taking all the possible money, stuff and freedom, will come for their guns, with the backup of their socialist friends in the United Nations, and then the real revolution will start!!!

It wasn't 1.80? Wasn't even close to that when Obama was elected.
Gas crisis of 2008 raised gas prices...You wanna blame Obama for the 2008 gas crisis as well...

Besides, OPEC controls gas prices...The president has little control of what OPEC sets their prices to.
"Besides, OPEC controls gas prices...The president has little control of what OPEC sets their prices to."

Stupid hypocrite liberals, that is not what you said when Bush was in power, retarded!!!

Can you answer this, I dare you: why was your liberal media interviewing motorists on the pain and suffering at the gas stations when gas was $2.00?

But none to be seen when gas is $4.00 under Obama!

That little fact alone proves beyond any doubt that liberals are hypocrites and wrong and conservatives are the real adults in America.

You DID blame Bush.

And you know it and we know how idiot you were and still are for blaming him!!!

You did and your whole liberal machine did!!!

You know they did and you agreed because it was a Republican but the next Republican you will quickly blame him for high gas prices too.

Conservativism = freedom + personal responsibility.

Any other definition is incorrect!!!

Liberalism = hate this country + bigger government

Can you spot their fundamental contradiction?

I never got a job from a liberal ghetto trash only from rich people.

Corporations pay me good for my professional services, while ghetto liberal trash watch my car to break into it with their food stamp purchased tools and guns.
