Both parties have a bad history with minorities. In thew 60's southern Democrats who we called 'Dixiecrats' joined with right wing republicans to oppose the civil rights law which gave blacks the universal right to vote. Unfortunately the gop has continued the bigotry to this day!

That is a blatant lie. The Civil Rights Act of 1964 passed BECAUSE of Republicans and IN SPITE OF Democrats.
