Information as Weaponry

Last year’s U.S.-NATO war against Libya “was not conducted just with bombing and with troops, but was an information war, and that’s the parallel with what’s going on in Syria, today,” said journalist Don Debar.“The bloodshed is conducted on behalf of, or directed by, the United States, France and Britain. Iran is public enemy number one for the West,“as it has been since 1979.”

Nonpartisan (yeah, right) Tax Policy Center’s Skewed Analysis of Governor Romney's Tax Plan

The Tax Policy Center (TPC) recently released a report that erroneously concludes that Governor Mitt Romney’s tax reform plan would necessarily cut taxes for the rich and raise them for middle-income and low-income taxpayers.

However, despite the authors’ claims, their analysis is far from definitive. Instead, their conclusion is the result of a series of carefully made choices.

These choices, not the underlying nature of the Romney plan, cause them to arrive at their selected result. This finding is harming the debate on tax reform.

Bwahahahaha

There isn’t much time left in the election, and we’re reaching the point where polls become highly predictive—as Robert Erikson and Christopher Wlezien note in The Timeline of Presidential Elections, the candidate who leads at this point in the race almost always goes on to win on election day. Barring a major exogenous event—like economic collapse in Europe—Romney faces extremely long odds for the White House

Mitt Romney is living proof that incompetent white guys with money can go far in life – but not, this time, to the White House. The poor little rich boy will doubtless blame the 47%. But Obama will treat them no better.“If he is re-elected he will waste no time in making another grand bargain with the Republicans which will come at the expense of the 47%.”

Mitt Romney: The Less Effective Evil,Romney is very ambitious but not very bright, which is the cause of his latest campaign troubles we have long argued against the canard of supporting the “lesser of two evils.” After all, one is still supporting evil and the rightward shift in American politics means that the so-called lesser evil is generally nothing of the sort.

Barack Obama is not, as most Democrats argue, the lesser of two evils, he is actually the more effective evil. Mitt Romney is simply no match for Obama, who clearly surpasses him in intellect and political shrewdness. Obama knows how to give his supporters the back of his hand and still get their undying love and loyalty. Romney doesn’t have anyone’s loyalty and is living proof of the power of white privilege and the entitlements that come with wealth.

Romney’s presidential campaign is only viable because of deep pocketed right wing contributors and deeply racist white Americans who cling to the Republican Party regardless of the quality of its candidates. The Romney campaign has weathered many missteps on the part of the candidate, who managed to insult the British during a simple photo opportunity at the Olympics and who was unable to run an effective convention, which is now nothing more than a glorified commercial. He followed his lackluster event with hastily made and just plain incorrect statements about the killing of the American ambassador to Libya and followed that public relations disaster by stating that middle income Americans earn $200,000 per year. Mitt Romney is a conservative, turned moderate, turned conservative again. He is very ambitious but not very bright, which is the cause of his latest campaign troubles.

Hey azzhole we know what your poison is.

There are really only three ways to deal with all the evidence that Obama is ahead with time beginning to run out:(1) blame it on a bad Romney campaign; (2) argue some 1980-style “big shift” to Romney is inevitable and perhaps already baked into the cake; or (3) just deny it all on grounds most of the pollsters are wrong, biased or both.

Conservatives, you will be provided false feedback through a corrupt Judge-it system here. No matter how ridiculous your comment is you will be given a piece of cheese in the form of positive Judge-it feedback. Just like FOX News, your handlers believe your mind is so weak you need to be completely immersed in the blissful notion that your hate and misinformation has merit.
Progressives, no matter how true or insightful your comment is it will only be received with negative feedback.(see above)
To all:
This corruption has gone on for months and Topix refuses to do anything about it. If you doubt that the Judge-it system is corrupt then check it out for yourself. Go back to any page on this thread and try to make a positive vote for a progressive comment or a negative vote for a conservative comment. Come back to the page a little later and see what happened. Even without this test anyone can plainly see the patterned groups of three similar votes.
The reason this is important is that it exemplifies the extremes the fanatic right wing will go to control the minds of their sheep.
Republicans finding new ways to cheat, nothing new here.

With just six weeks to go, it is now evident that there is a clear-cut way in which the 2012 election cycle is unique from its predecessors. And not, as it happens, in a particularly good way.
Polls late in the election season have always invigorated those out in front, and to some extent dispirited those running behind. As a result, supporters of the trailing candidate or party have always beseeched supporters to either discount or ignore bad polling, and press on as if the race was a true dead heat.

But, in my two decades of following elections, never have I seen such a broad effort, from the most wacky corners of the blogosphere to people in positions of high authority in the campaign in question, to attempt to smear and discredit pessimistic data. That Republicans have decried media conspiracies in the past is old hat to anyone that has seriously followed campaigns. But it is a bit mournful to see the GOP's war on science extend now to simple mathematics.
