If you count the total number of people that listen to talk radio the majority listen to Rush......
Yes many people dont listen to the 100s of conservative talk shows or the tiny few liberal talk shows.....
You need to pay attention to what I write. I said "Yes, he is the single most listened to talk radio personality in America".

Then you say I'm wrong because, "If you count the total number of people that listen to talk radio the majority listen to Rush"

In other words, you say I'm wrong, then you repeat what I said in a diffrent way.

Here is what I was trying to say: People who listen to talk radio are a small minority of all daily radio listeners.(Most radio listeners prefer music, or reguar news programs, etc.) But out of that small minority that listen to talk radio, Rush has the largest share.

Well, yeah!

If not for the creation of false fears, gun mfgs. would have no way to sell their products.

With a smaller % of people hunting than at any other time in American history, there would be no market for guns if the gun dealers didn't CREATE ONE.

Follow the money. It will always tell the true story.

The NRA, on behalf of its major contributors (gun manufacturers and gun retailers) make up stories to scare people.

That's the bottom line on this subject.

Prove it! The NRA isn't making up anything. You are too busy with your head in the sand to realize what is right in front of you.

If in fact the lowest % of people are hunting in the history of the US, it just shows that the fear mongering and brainwashing of our children from the left has been successful, while the conservatives previously had their heads in the sand.

But again, I point out, the second amendment has absolutely nothing to do with hunting. So the fact gun sales has gone up consistently while, according to you, hunting has gone down, tells me the US Citizenry is waking up to what the second amendment is all about.

I disagree. I think Limbaugh had a lot to do with the election. And for that, I thank him from the bottom of my heart. You may be right that his regular listeners didn't change their minds about who to vote for.(and they probably never will. They don't proudly call themeslves "dittoheads" for nothing.)
But there are a lot of people in this country who sometimes vote for Democrats, and sometimes vote for Republicans. They are called "the middle". Most voters are not nearly as idealogical as you or me. They can go either way, depending on their perceptions in the months leading up to the election.
Rush often brags about how his show is the most listened to radio show in America. I think that's true. Fox News boasts that they are the most watched cable news network in America. I think that is true too. So here is my question: Where is their influence? Both Rush and Fox News advocated strongly for Romney, and constantly attacked Obama. Neither Rush nor Fox told any Republican voters to stay home.
My point is that if Rush or Fox really had the influence they think they have, then NO DEMOCRAT would ever get elected in this country. But consider this: In the last 20 years, we have had 7 presidential elections. In 5 out of those 7, the Democratic candidate has received more popular votes than the Republican candidate. Why? I think it is because the center tends to side with Democrats.
And I think in this last election cycle, Rush really screwed the GOP. He calls himself the "de facto leader of the Republican party". He says that Republican policy makers follow his lead.
So here is the problem. Rush is an uneducated, drug addited, draft-dodging pervert, whose only qualification is that he has a big mouth. And moderate people see him for what he is, and identify him with the Republican Party. I think that was an important component in the last election.
I hate to ruin your day, but swing voters as you call them are Independent voters, and Romeny did very well among Independents this last election. That leads us to believe one of two things: Independents don't listen to Limbaugh or Independents that listen to Limbaugh were swayed to vote for Romney:

I am amazed at how often I hear right wingers try to win arguments by pointing out how many listeners Limbaugh has. The same right wingers must think that since MacDonald's sells more hamburgers than anyone else, then MacDonald hamburgers are the best food you can eat.
Logic and critical thinking skills are not big with right wingers.
Then perhaps you should examine your own.

If you are visiting a strange town, how do you know where the good restaurants are? You go to the one that has a full lot of cars. If you need major surgery done and want the best, how do you know who the good surgeons are? The ones with a waiting list. If you want to impress a date by taking her to a play, how do you know what plays are good and what plays are bad? By the trouble it takes to get good seats.

And who is promoting more sales of guns than the NRA? The DNC. All people have to do is turn on a television or radio and listen to these Democrats. That's what scares people into buying more guns and ammo.

You're not giving DumBama enough credit. He knows how to create jobs, but jobs are not his concern. HIs concern is to expand government dependency as much as he can. More government workers, more bureaucracies, more people on food stamps and welfare, all college students who need loans, and yes, more people on government healthcare of some kind.
It's a pattern that can only be missed by the blind. In sprite of actual numbers and documented proof, liberals still believe that this was not DumBama's goal. They really believe that the so-called stimulus plan was to create new jobs outside of the public sector. They believe all his failures are because of Bush or the Republican Congress. Obama can do no wrong in their minds, that's how he got reelected. The man is flawless.
Obama has of flaw ; he buys his own BS.
