In Jan'07 various Dems dropped hints about the old FAIRNESS DOCTRINE which in affect would cripple talk radio.
Among those dropping the hint were Durbin , Waters and Feinstein as I recall.
So if Obama elected I expect Dems to reintroduce the bill. They will use Operation Chaos as the reason.
The politics that Rev. Wright preaches is loaded in the direction of Democratic Socialism which rings through Obamamessiah's serenade.
The Corn Ethanol Cartel that the Dems have created along with a few Reps. is gov't economic control with free markets being pushed aside.
Quite socialistic or Marxist-Lite. This includes direct subsidies , tariffs and production quotas. What is does is add extremely high food costs to already high fuel costs by gov't legislation.
The Dem plan to combat high fuel costs starts with high food costs. It replaces oil subsidies with agra-subsidies just a new set of wealthy biz types but beholden to the Dem party.
You have not said what you mean by "Marxist-Lite" and have not given reference to anything Obama has said or supported, You just talk vaguely about dems, subsidies and agra-subsidies which are also backed by republicans. The corn ethanol is a Bush idea. Agra by the way is the city in which you will find the Taj-Mahal, beautiful architecture from the 17th century.

The Fairness Doctrine is control of the freedom of speech . Basic Marxixt-Lite just like Chavez shutdown various broadcasting orgs. in Ven.This isn't vague pertaining to the Fairness Doctrine as I stated Dem names . The question is will Obama turnoff Durbin , Waters and Feinstein on the Fairness Doctrine.
An attempt by the Marxixt wing of the Dem party to stop any Dem from going on FOX was another Marxist-Lite move. Obama , kowtowing to his Daily Kos handlers refused to do a debate of FOX organized by the Dem. Black Caucus.
He buckled to the Marxist wing on that one.

Bush was in favor of all ethanol not just Dem mandated Corn Ethanol quotas.. Mainly the baby of Dicky Durbin with the $0.50 tariff on imported ethanol. Plus the Dems MANDATED 6-7 fold increase in Corn Ethanol production ( planned Marxist style economy).
McCain was againist the Corn Ethanol Lobby in 2000 that is why he didn't take part in the 2000 Iowa primary.

There are two basic types of economies. Planned ( Dems style) or Demand ( GOP)style.

The Dems under the heavy hand of there Eco-Freak handlers are creating a PLANNED energy economy. Demand shows we need refineries but the Dems won't allow any , PLANNED Economy ...basic Marxist-Lite.

Through regulation the Dems attempt to give us a plannned economy in energy , health care and jobs.
All were trademarks of Marxist nations. Even the PRC has switched to a demand economy .
Cuba may surprise us yet but many Latin-American countries are going planned. Brazil is an exception.

And you've danced around the claim that Obama is somehow related to "Marxist-Lite" because the democrats didn't want him to go on FOX which is one of the biggest jokes of a news station on TV. Fair and Balanced? Not.

Unless you have been taking a very prolonged nap,you would know that we have been paying the militias huge amounts of American cash dollars to fight against Alqaeda in Iraq!

The above “wounded” dirty diaper democRat is another trinket promised fool on his knees servicing Euro-socialists and terrorists. Of course that is to be expected coming from a politically inept history illiterate twit who stands for nothing and falls for anything.

You want to "clean up the planet"???? How about put an extra huge tax on Americans to clean up the Universe??? That is what brainwashed environmental terrorists want! Clean everything and first of all eliminate humans!!!
Hey all you brilliant people! Who can tell me how many presidents have gone to war and not raised taxes? Answer: Only 1
How many presidents have sacrificed over 4K soldiers' lives and had over 25K injured for a war based on coerced evidence? Answer: Only 1
How many presidents have taken a surplus and turned into the largest debt this country has ever seen? Bet you know the answer.
How many presidents could give this country the worst global reputation it's ever had in only 7 years after the whole world was in our corner after 9/11?
How many presidents had a VP that collected huge sums of money from his former company after winning illegal no bid contracts?
How many presidents exposed an undercover CIA agent ruining her career after her husband spoke out against the administration?

Now let me ask this question: Which candidate in the upcoming election most closely aligns himself w/ the president that answered every question above? BTW, McCain doesn't know anything about economics by his own admission and he won't listen to experts either! Not to mention he's beginning to suffer from dimensia! That's who I want running my country!!

From Campaign Money Watch...
A Project of Campaign Action Fund....

As you might have heard, over the weekend two of John McCain's lobbyist supporters resigned from his campaign almost immediately after news came to light that they had lobbied for the brutal military junta in Myanmar.

We're glad to see them go. But it's not enough. McCain still has plenty of other lobbyists — 112 by our count — working on his behalf, ones with ties to unsavory dictators and polluters of the environment.

It's time to send McCain a message: Fire the lobbyists. Add your name to our petition to tell the senator it's time to give these people the boot.

Among the worst offenders is one of McCain's top advisors, Charlie Black. His firm has represented several leaders known for human rights abuses, as well as Chinese oil interests. Another lobbyist, Tom Loeffler, works for a firm that counts the Saudi Arabian government among its clients. One of McCain's top fundraisers, Peter Madigan defended the United Arab Emirates against allegations that boys there are enslaved and forced to be camel jockeys.

Their firms' clients have given more than $3.5 million to McCain since 1989, according to a Campaign Money Watch analysis of data provided by the nonpartisan Center for Responsive Politics.

These people — and the associations they bring — have no place in a major presidential campaign. Sign the petition today to tell McCain they need to go.

After you sign the petition, please forward this email to everyone you know and help us send a loud and clear message to McCain: Fire the lobbyists.

Sincerely,

David Donnelly

FIRE THE LOBBYISTS....

Sign the petition!
John McCain’s campaign relies on well-heeled Washington lobbyists to run and raise money for his White House bid. In fact, he’s relying on at least 112 lobbyists as staff or fundraisers, including at least ten who represent brutal dictators, human rights abusers, and other unsavory foreign interests.

After reports that two former lobbyists for the military junta in Myanmar resigned recently, Campaign Money Watch is calling on John McCain to fire three more lobbyists – Charlie Black, Tom Loeffler, and Peter Madigan – who worked for foreign governments or interests that offend American values and human rights.

Sign below and we’ll deliver a petition to John McCain demanding that he fire the lobbyists.

END MCCAIN'S FREE RIDE...
.
In the months since Paul Waldman and I completed Free Ride: John McCain and the Media, not much has changed in the media's ongoing love affair with the Arizona senator. To combat the seemingly never-ending barrage of fawning, uncritical coverage the media bestow upon McCain, Paul and I have updated our book with an exclusive online chapter covering the time that has passed since Free Ride went to press.

>> Read the New Chapter - How the media has covered McCain since Free Ride went to press.

While the news media couldn't stop talking about Rev. Jeremiah Wright, McCain's ties to Rev. John Hagee -- who claimed that Hurricane Katrina was "the judgment of God against the city of New Orleans" for its "level of sin" and who advocates an American attack on Iran, which he says is part of God's plan for Armageddon -- have generated little coverage. NBC Washington bureau chief Tim Russert even recently acknowledged: "I don't think -- the Hagee thing, McCain has not been questioned ... scrutinized about that."

When The New York Times broke a story about McCain that suggested McCain may have done favors for Paxson Communications -- a company that has donated tens of thousands of dollars to McCain and flew him around the country on its corporate jet -- the story disappeared almost immediately.

Rather than subjecting John McCain to the kind of scrutiny any presumptive major-party nominee should expect to receive, the media have continued to act as John McCain's protector and defender, excusing his misstatements, like when he wrongly said---more than once---that Al Qaeda in Iraq was being trained in Iran and ignoring potentially damaging comments, like when he implied the Iraq war was fought to secure oil supplies. And still, we continue to hear that McCain is a "maverick" (a word used to refer to him more than 700 times in January and February alone) who delivers "straight talk" (used 650 times in the same two months).

>> Read the New Chapter - How the media has covered McCain since Free Ride went to press.

"The media does seem to be ready to will John McCain out of Iowa," said NBC political director Chuck Todd just before the voting began -- and so they did, declaring his distant fourth-place finish in the Iowa caucuses a comeback and propelling McCain into New Hampshire and the primaries that followed.

Since then, the media has routinely, uncritically aired McCain's attacks on his Democratic rivals and blatant distortions of their positions. The media are acting more like McCain's primary surrogates every day. Much as they have been for the last decade, the rules are just different for John McCain.

I hope you'll read our new chapter and use it to help us change the rules. It's time for the media to start treating John McCain like they would any other politician.
Sincerely,

David Brock

WHO IS MCCAIN'S SPECIAL INTEREST?

John McCain is lying to America. He claims to be a straight-talking maverick. He publicly distances himself from the wildly unpopular Bush administration.

But it's just more of the same. Making windfall corporate profits the law of the land. Pandering to the religious right. Endless war.

McCain's latest ingenious policy proposal is his idea to lift the gas tax during the summer months to supposedly help ease the burden on vacationing families. McCain's idea is so out of touch that everyone from Paul Krugman to Bush's council of economic advisors thinks it's a horrible idea.

McCain's proposal is not about making life easier for families. McCain's real special interest is big oil. They get huge tax breaks to help them continue to rake in record profits, even as prices soar at the pump.

Democracy for America wants the voters to know the truth. We need to make an impact now while the issue is hot.

DFA will run a people-powered campaign, using radio ads to target the very voters McCain hopes to shore up with his gas tax holiday. We will go after white men and independents, running our aggressive persuasion ads on drive time sports radio in upcoming primary states.

It is imperative that we stop McCain from taking us deeper into economic despair with nonsense proposals designed to pander to a key voting bloc in an election year.

The time is now. Together we will unmask the McCain myth. Join us today .

This is only the beginning. The more DFA members take action, the faster we can escalate the attack. DFA's people-powered campaigns will use sophisticated micro-targeting to contact voters who are crucial to a Democratic victory in November.

McCain is appealing to working and middle class Americans. He wants folks to think he is working for them. The gas tax holiday is no exception. A recent Reuters article connects the not-so-subtle dots:

"Economists said that since refineries cannot increase their supply of gasoline in the space of a few summer months, lower prices will just boost demand and the benefits will flow to oil companies, not consumers. "You are just going to push up the price of gas by almost the size of the tax cut," said Eric Toder, a senior fellow at the Urban-Brookings Tax Policy Center in Washington."¹

Together, we will make sure America knows who McCain's special interest really is. Contribute $50 today to give DFA the resources to win.

I think that all former Presidents and congressmen and senators, when they loose their jobs. They should do like us normal American people do,sign up for unemployment.
Cut them off from all the money they get and the President should NOT get paid anything after his term is up. Why can't we vote for us a raise, like congressman do and Senators do?
