Bummer when you get your little digs thrown back at you, right? But the whining was so unexpected. Not.

This kind of stuff probably passes for cleverness out on the playground or back with your inbred hillbilly congregation. Someone as dumb as you needs to hire a writer.

If this is the quote you're referring to, I believe you've misinterpreted the lines. Carlyle was talking about history, not religion.
Yup thats the one....
Hes saying mans scientific advancements (historical time line of events) are a product of his spirituality -

But feel free to rephrase it more clearly if I still have not obtained what he meant.

But, I stand by my assertion. The earliest 'science'(aka - history)- is the product of man thoughts on survival. As evidenced by hunting tools that predate religious artifacts.

In other words - mans 'spirituality', on a historical time line - came after *other* scientific discoveries (and thoughts) that were based off of survival instincts (and food preferences). Neither of which are not 'spiritual' in nature.

Now why didn't you quote this part....??

"In terms of doing things I take a fairly scientific approach to why things happen and how they happen"

Anyone can read - he puts little stock in anything that can not be proven with science. Sounds more like an atheist selling stuff to Christians to me.

In your world that passes for intelligence. Way to open your mouth without offering one iota of original thought. Typical mindless antitheist!

Move on fraud. You don't care about debate. Spread your limiting natural paramaters elsewhere. It's pathetic you have refused to take a position you are willing to defend regarding creation and then accuse others of avoiding debate.

There is nothing to debate. You don't believe and offer nothing more. It's really quite sad, and definitely juvenile.

Stump an antitheist! Ask it what it believes.

Your thoughts have long been mine.
Debate, however, can help one to focus on what your own view really is, and can help nebulous constellations of thought congeal into real ideas. Real ideas that can be expressed more succinctly; and the pithier your arguments and ideas can be expressed, the better.
We all gain intellectual ammo for the next round. Debate is another way of learning, refining, even allowing your take on things to evolve.
The trouble is, so many religiots don't/can't really debate in the truest sense of the word. It comes down to what they believe without any actual substantiation that the rational can recognize.
Apples and aliens...what's there, really, for the fact-oriented and the fanciful to "debate"?

What is this gobblygook. I sure hope that drivel isn't your attempt at explaining the creation of the universe. Your willfull ignorance is not appreciated. Don't worry about the whole existence thing antitheist, you didn't acknowledge a purposeful either.

Try again hat rack.

Stump an antitheist! Ask it what it believes.

Interesting, to be honest I did not even know you existed. I have been going back and forth with ole 9mm so long that I did not notice you. Sorry.
Okay position, religion is and has always been a crutch for those that do not wish to be their own person. Instead of accepting your faults it is easier to pass the blame to another. In this case a made up god.
Religion is also an easy tool for people to use when they wish to explain fables and over active imaginations.
Examples; Demons, werewolves, vampires.
These do not exist nor have they ever existed. People that believe in them are fools that would believe anyone on their word.
Fact is fact and all can be explained by facts rather than by claiming the devil must have done it.
Now since you have my foundation to my beliefs will you answer my challenge or are you just not willing to?
I do not think that any so called christian is will to prove that their god is real.
Oh and btw creation is a joke. Anyone that believes it is falling for that joke like a child falls for prank.

Another terrible post I've come to expect for the frauds in this forum. How did the universe begin Joe? HMMMMM

As with most antitheists you have proven yourself to be a fraud.

Johnny now you have my attention, johnny boy. You have been rude, so I must return the favor. I tried to play nice with you, but I see you just can not play with the adults.
Johnny, johnny, johnny, as with most primitives who believe in the "big bang bang god" you are no different.
I can tell by your ramblings that you believe in the "big bang bang god" in the sky.
No johnny boy, that is not a god yelling at at you, it is only thunder.
Johnny when you wake up from your man made dream and join the rest of humanity then and only then will you find truth.
Truth johnny, no not a "big bang bang god", accept the truth that there is no god and you will live a better life.
Religion was made up to control the weak minded by the more intelligent. Yes johnny even today you are being controlled.
Johnny you are but a simple tool that has no will of your own.
Grow up and join the rest of the ever growing movement. Grow up and get out of the kiddie pool. Trust me the water is fine.
When you decide to become a real human you will see that responsibility for your life belongs to you.
Not someone who tells you what to think.
Not someone that tells you that the "big bang bang god" is watching you.
Not someone that tells you what they think you should do.
Johnny boy, become a grown up and become your own person.

Just an odd question, how many parts of the bable were written by jeeeeeeesus?

Raising hand again....Just one more odd odd question about your passage. I am asking this because you are so well versed in the bable.

If your jeeeeesus is god why did he say, "Before Abraham, I am"?

If he was claiming to be god why didn't he just say,"Before Abraham was I was"?

Wait let me guess, it is just the mysteries of jeeeeeesus. He just wanted you guys to pound your heads in for 2000 completely lost to the meaning?

Or could it all be that the text was translated so many time and so many ways that the original meaning has been lost?

But, of course my version can not be correct. Because we poor cavemen need a god to fall back on whenever things just do not go right.

Ug the big boom boom god has stopped water from falling. Great giant boom boom god must be mad. We must kill some people to make him happy! Ug....LOL

Your forum has offered nothing but disbelief since page one when i even spelled it out for them. You have yet to answer what position of belief you are willing to defend regarding creation. Having something to debate was my prerequisite you so predictably duck. There is plenty of evidence of a purposeful creation, but, i need not share anything with purveyors of nothing. Whenya got something of your own Joe we'll try some back and forth. Until then you are the ignorant disbeliever I said you were.
To even try and make the argument of nothing creating everything is a scientific impossibility and is in itself a joke.
I made the first challenge to any antitheist to make up an observable and repeatable standard within the confines of a limiting natural parameter. You collectively came up with zip, zilch, nada.
Folks, you just aren't that intelligent. Get over it.

If a nothinker wants to debate the origin of the universe they are expected to have a position to defend. However, thousands of self reported intellects continue to cite disbelief in a God as some sort of evidence of anything. Personally, I think it's a weakness neccesitated by being utterly clueless with the limiting natural paramaters. Science of the gaps is every bit as troublesome as God of the gaps.
I see you continue to dance like a puppet regurgitating a disbelief in God. I get it. That's it? Seriously? Put the collective brainpower (such as it is) of nothinkers together and get some substantive message out there. The best PR in the world can't mask this charade of a forum.
Now, go back to doing exactly what I told you to. If you offered one iota of original thought to defend perhaps you wouldn't be so frustrated chasing your tail. My redundancy is beginning to bore me almost as much as your nothing; but, hey that's on you.
Stump a nothinker! Ask him why he limits his thought and cannot provide a position he's willing to defend.
Watch these frauds attack a God they don't believe in and offer nothing more.

I don't think too many people are seeing the weakness of atheism right now.

How do you account for the rising numbers of atheists if you Christians have been as successful debating as you claim you have been?

Are you one of those successful debaters? Because you're not doing very well in this thread, and you're certainly not winning any converts with weak crap like,'godders have faith, atheists have confusion' or 'you might be a fundie atheist if you think that there is a real life difference between not believing and knowing.'

Daily Horoscope for December 28

Scorpio

The thought of the sales is almost too good to resist today, and you'll jump at the chance to see what's on offer. Even better if you can snap up some bargains at the same time. It's certainly a good day for investing your money carefully, but make sure you aren't more seduced by the reduction in the cost of something than in the item itself. Are you certain that you want to buy it?
