I was not really talking about raises, but not every place gives raises based on work, lots of places have a flat raise you will get every year (my husbands job for example everyone gets .50 cents every six months but if you work hard like my husband you will get a whopping 2 cents more so his attitude is who cares i'll just slack off like the rest of them), lots of places give raises based on your job titles, and not all managers will make anything happen. When I worked at a resurant there were no raises for the servers, we got paid 2.13 and hour no matter how hard we worked. Sure we could get great tips, but so could the slacker who didn't stock all night long or never ran their own food.
Sounds like the places you work have bad management...take it up with them...if you are busting your butt and someone else is slacking...that's a management problem...
Also...if the places you work have crappy raises, then go find another job instead of simply dealing with it...I know that when I'm not happy about something that bothers me too much...I'll look to see if there is anything else better suited for me in the line of work.
I'd say that if slackers are allowed to slack off while your working hard...and management won't do anything about it...then it is time to go above your management chain of command to a higher authority where they may in fact do something about it...if not...go find another job where they manage better.

Why are the Republicans nominating a Black man and a woman. Did they really want to win at all??? This looks fishy to me. Aren't there any normal looking people worth nominating?
I am not a biggot just before you get on this bandwagon, so forget getting back at for that. I am just thinking with intelligence. And why was Kerry there in the first election after Bush was in power. He did not look like he had a leg to stand on. If you want to fix your country, you would need a better political system. I am not saying we are any better in Canada, but your country has lots more to lose in case you did not notice!
Bush is selling your country to foreign investors. Soon you will be owned by Saudi Arabia and China, if that is not already the case.
Canada seems to depend on the US for too much. This makes us feel real uneasy that uneducated people are going to make a difference in your country. Maybe you should elect someone that will get you out of this dilemna.
It seems that Bush has used this in his favor to win. No education, no educated votes.
Then send those uneducated voters to war to defend the oil rights. By the way, Bush is making a fortune out of these wars, all on his voters back. Anyone tired of this?

I did, I don't work their anymore. I have a job that rewards hard work. My husband works for UPS, the raises are not crappy but you get them no matter what so why bust *ss. Anyway I think we have gravitated toward another subject. Bringing up my husbands job was a bad example now that I think of it (unions have their own thing) But not everyone can just go out and get another job like I did, one resurant is about the same as the next. Management can only do so much.

I understand...I'm not just pointing out that it's bad management...

I also worked for UPS 6 years ago and I can honestly say that there was a time when unions were a good thing...anymore they are nothing but a bunch of lobbyist, not there to represent the employee...they have a way bigger agenda to push for.

All we can hope for is no democrat gets the election or our dollar wil be of even less value.
The democrats will raise minimum wage...which did you know that most unions base their set wages off of minimum wage? So when it goes up, so will most of the union workers wages...so does that mean more money in everyones pocket? Yes, but not really, as the value of the dollar continues to drop (not only Bush problem...feds aren't helping matters any by lowering rate) inflation will sky rocket...(remember the carter years) and therefore the increased wages get blown on the additional cost it takes to get by.

Interesting logic (?)
Because the past administration and previous Republican ones are realistically inept at managing an economy and have gotten us to this point in time, and the only administrations even Carter's that have paid down the debt and effectively raised the value of a dollar are Democratic ones (even a surplus)- you think it is a wise move to vote Republican. Amazing. Raising minimum wage perhaps has the effect of some workers requiring less services because of more disposable income. To maintain the fallacy that there is a certain segment of our society that should be paid unfairly for what is considered menial repetive work propogates poverty and is quite indicative of a certain classest mentality. And perhaps poverty should be something we should all be concerned about due to it's heavy costs on society. Inflation is already occurring without additional wage increase. Businesses who make unwise decisions should be allowed to fail and not be propped up for their mismanagement by the federal Reserve or our tax dollars. Loan shark rates of credit businesses must be controlled. The biggest problems unions are facing are outsourcing and being on a continuing republican hit list - organizational matters should be their concern. That whole concept has not only cost American jobs but has been so heavily subsidized by the government I doubt we will ever recoup the losses. Once again perhaps I ask you - why would you continue to vote for the managers who have destroyed the business and are causing hardship in your life? Hopefully people will get enough moxy and common sense to actually take a shot on a positive future instead of being lemmings and following some fantasy buck (straight talk express - yeah right) over a cliff.

And when the Democrats drive the last corporation from US soil and last US millionaire moves out of the Country who are they going to milk for their socialist programs? I watch the Democrats in this State drive out companies like GM , Goodyear and Lockheed to other states. But that not good enough for them now you want them to go to other countries.

I said Mississippi has the highest rate of illetracy .
and by major University do you mean like Texas A&M (Brazos county) Or BYU In Provo , Utah. Found those on a quick check . I sure if I did a quick check of college check of Universities in the South and West I could find more.
But as I pointed out here a study on education and voting patterns. It shows High school drop outs are the group most likely to vote democratic.
http://dabacon.org/pontiff/...
I don't dispute that high school dropouts tend to vote democrat, after all they know democrats tend to take better care of society than republicans, which is why the poor and minorities also tend to vote democrat. However, you failed to mention in the meta-analysis study that you are referring to that those with graduate level education tend to vote democrat vs republican by 10 percentage points. BTW, how convenient of you to pick a bible belt university and a Mormon university for republican voting patterns. How does Cambridge Massachusetts vote?

Since when is being uneducated something to be proud of? I'm still wondering why both Hilary and the media keep repeating the statement that most uneducated whites are voting for her. So, if I get this correctly, these people are voting for her not because they're smart enough to understand her position on the issues or because they really believe she's the best candidate, but because she's white? LOLOL!!!!!!!!!!

Well, most uneducated whites voted for Bush too, and look at the sorry state he brought the country to!

RED CLOUD has made a good point that the white people who support that treacherous con politician call Barack Hussein Obama is reason for the demise of their own race.

I have found proof that supports his opinion.
Here is the proof:

1/Open YouTube video "Barack Obama -A More Perfect Union-Part 2"
2/ Click on the user name of the person who is a white man supporting Obama.
3/ Watch the #1 favorite video of the white Obama supporter.

The story in the video may be considered as a symbolic way to express how some Obama supporters, black or white, want things to be changed in America in a perverted way.

To confirm that such kind of racism conforms to the belief system of Obama's church, web search
tucc.org Click Black Value System.

Yes, it's a whole new ball game. If you are a white male voter or a white male super-delegate, you need no balls to play the Obama ball game.

Just shows how you think.
Well Bush II coming up by the decision of sparkies, if you get to vote at all on this. I guess you like wars, because you cannot discuss this intelligently.
That is how Bush is running your country, or have not noticed that at all?
Get out a bit, you might actually see that there are countries in the world that are much better to live in than the US. But that is only my opinion, right?
In the meantime, watch this, it might educate you a bit.

Hey, high school grad only voters -- how are you faring financially thanks to W's tax cuts for the richest of the rich? "..........
My husband & I are high school only grads & Bush's tax cuts to the "rich" have saved my husband and I almost $300 per week, and we earn less than $50,000 for our household of 4.
Wake up people. The tax cuts were also for the middle & low class!!! Plus, when did things really start to slide economically? When the Democrats took over the House & Senate again!!

The challenge was to pick any University town that voted Republican. No other restriction was placed on the Challenge.
