2008 Presidential Election

The 30 who ruled on Florida, Michigan delegates

A 30-member Democratic Party panel decided Saturday how to award Florida and Michigan delegates to presidential candidates Sen.

The article includes information about the members of the Democratic National Committee's Rules and Bylaws Committee, which decided what to do about Clinton's victories in the two states' primaries, both of which were unsanctioned because they were held too early for the party's liking.

There were five MORE Clinton supporters than Obama supporters out of these 30.

So Clinton picked up 24 pledged delegates plus the superdelegates in FL and MI.

Very good for her.

Now she can lose without bitching any more.

The ego Hillary Clinton has to insist that her party break the rules to keep her in the race must be extraordinary. It seems like her strategy is to keep moving the finish line out, hoping Obama will trip.

I've read that a vote for McCain is a vote for Bush II... Clinton is looking more like Bush every day.

YOU ARE A RACIST. YOU KNOW NOTHING NEGATIVE ABOUT SENATOR OBAMA, YET YOU SIT IN JUDGEMENT. YOU ARE JUST UPSET BECAUSE THE MAN WITH A WHITE MOTHER AND A BLACK FATHER IS ABOUT TO BECOME THE NOMINEE OF THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY. GET OVER IT BECAUSE AMERICA IS BIGGER THAN YOU AND YOUR RACIST CRIES ABOUT A CANDIDATE. SENATOR OBAMA HAS RAN A GREAT CAMPAIGN EVEN THOUGH SO MANY RACIST PEOPLE HAVE TRIED TO INTERFERRED. I AM SO GLAD THAT HE CONTINUED TO MAKE THE CAMPAIGN ABOUT THE AMERICAN PEOPLE AND NOT HIMSELF.
GET OVER IT.

Hillary was raped, and it looks like we all will be soon. Why not start another party, or have Hillary run as an independent?

Hillary believed this would be a coronation. Her fired first campaign manager (when not watching soaps during the day)planned a strategy and budget that ended with Super Tuesday....they went on to lose the next twelve contests in a row...got desperate -played the "Race Card" and lost damn near ALL formerly held black support...whined and fussed at the media about things like getting too many first debate questions etc. and now in the end, wants to move the goal posts and claim sexism beat her. This is not the female lead I encourage my two daughters to emulate.

The Democrat voters did not change the date of the primary in Florida. The Republican governor and Republican legislature wilfully changed the date of the primary to sabotage the Democrat primary.

It is a shame for the Obamanites in the DNC to take advantage of the sabotaging act of the opposing party to bully their fellow Democrats by depreciating their votes as 1/2 votes.

The Obamanites are a pernicious political group in the same category as the bigots who disenfranchised the slaves as 3/5 human and the women as inferior beings not worthy of having the right to vote at all.

The Obamanites have hijacked the Democratic party.

NO VOTE FOR OBAMA

We are witnessing the self destruction of the democratic party as we have known it. The party is not any kind of coalition... just a gaggle of special interest groups.

We are also seeing the metamorphosis of the republican party. As the democratic party has self destructed... the republican party has taken a small step to the left... and is in position to make the term Reagan democrat a thing of the past. They are soon to be just called republicans.

Obama... some uniter.

Not a bad idea...things will start to happen within the approaching weeks. The DNC has shown its hand.
The Democrats are not a party of inclusion. They are a party of Elitists and Blacks. The moderates need to form their own party and according to the popular vote Clinton has more supporters plus the independent moderates interested in the Clinton's platform will be anxious to join.
What we witnessed on Saturday was the demise of the Democrat party.

The DNC has not shown its hand. The DNC doesn't have any hand to show. It is like a corrupted dealer who cheated on Hillary by dealing out selected cards favorable to its partner in crime.
If the rookie Obama is advanced to a new game with an honest dealer. He will be as pathetic as a turtle put on the top of a tall post.

It is ironic that a political party which blatantly undercut the voting right of it own members bullied by an opposing political party and still shameless enough to call itself the Democrat party.

Most Hillary supporters would rather see Hillary go third party should Obama becomes the nomineee. If she doesn't go third party, they would rather vote for McCain than vote for a crooked politician.

That is just not true.

The bill to move up the primary was sponsored by Jeremy Ring, a dem from Margate, Florida. It passed with huge support in the Fl. Senate and unanimously in the Fl. house.

It was a bipartisan move, again, introduced by a democrat. The GOP and the DNC both sanctioned Fl. for moving up our primary. Sorry to burst your bubble, but there was no wilful sabotage by the pubs on the dems.

If the Democrats lose this general election, I am seriously considering joining the Greens.

But I do have a fix for their presidential woes.

1. Do away with caucuses. They disenfranchise many general election voters with their long time commitment and short window to vote. Instead caucuses reflect the view of party activists.

2. Do away with weighting highly democrat areas with more delegates. The swing vote is as, if not more important, than the party base.

These two items would more closely reflect "one person one vote".

The official explanation from the website of the Florida Democratic Party proves that your version is a deceptive lie.

http://www.fladems.com/page/content/makeitcou...

Who sets the date for Florida’s Primary?
It says,"In the 2007 legislative session, the Republican Speaker of the House made it a priority to move up the Primary to January, in violation of both Democratic and Republican National Committee Rules."
Jeremy Ring, an Obama supporter, is the Judas who introduced the bill to break the rule as he knew Hillary would be the winner in Florida and by breaking the rule, Hillary's win would be sabotaged.

It also says, " In response to the Party’s efforts, Senate Democratic Leaders Geller and Wilson and House Democratic Leaders Gelber and Cusack introduced amendments to CS/HB 537 to hold the Presidential Preference Primary on the first Tuesday in February, instead of January 29th. These were both defeated by the overwhelming Republican majority in each house."

So some Democratic leaders did try to move the date back to comply with party rule but their efforts were sabotaged by the Republicans.

Sorry to expose your deceptive lie that the Republican did not engage in wilful sabotage of the democratic primary. They did initiate the idea of breaking the rule and in blocking democratic leaders' effort to move the date back to comply with party rule.

However, I would not blame the Republican as much as I would blame the Judas of the Democratic Party who betrayed the trust of their fellow Democrats in the Hillary camp in engaging a fair fight. After all, as Republicans they are supposed to what they are allowed to do to defeat the Democrats, but for the Obamanites to have used such a dirty trick against fellow Democrats in the Hillary camp is a revelation that I found to be true in the Michigan primary as well.

NO VOTE FOR OBAMA
Exactly! As a Michigan voter, I voted in the only primary that was offered to me by the MDC (Michigan Democratic Committee). I had no say in when it should be held. Now my vote is being allotted according to the national committee's wishes allowing Obama four Michigan delegate votes despite the fact that he removed himself from the ballot before the primary.

Before anyone pops up and says that he did it because he was respecting the rules, check things out. He chose to concentrate on swing states like New Hampshire instead.

I've also seen comments that Clinton supporters will stay loyal to the Democratic party and vote for Obama. I won't. There's too much that I don't like/trust about Obama's politics. Will I go Republican? Nope. McCain is a Bush clone when it comes to war and, as a veteran, I can't support a warmonger. Will I vote? Can anybody tell me about Nader?:-)

What ever happened to the value of a single vote? How did we stick ourselves with National Committees and the Electoral College? My vote? Get rid of both and elect our officials based on popular votes.

Since my vote doesn't really count, I guess I no longer have to pay taxes. There is not supposed to be taxation without representation. I don't think the games played by politicians should trump my right to have my vote counted. The Democrats are idiots. Looks like I will divide my vote to keep the Congress Democrat and McCain for President. Maybe they will tie themselves in knots, and we can minimize the damage.
