Yet again, people that pay the most into the system won't get a dime. I like communism better than democracy. At least the commies make everybody pay fairly.

If you make past the requirements you shouldn't need a dime, and if so, you need to take a finance class.

It will take a lot more than that rebate check to stimulate the economy. If he chooses he could deal with the high price of gas americans
are paying. It's not right that the
Exxon's can profit 43 billion and we pay $3.00 or more per gallon.

Americans could pay 1.50 and they still would profit billions. It's
all corporate greed and once we get the oil boys out of the white house gas will come down. Bush and Cheney is in the oil business and therefore they really see it as a conflict of interest to deal with it. Especially when their bank accounts are being padded. I won't mention anything about the subprime mortgage mess and I bet some people in Bush cabinet are involved with that somehow.

I hope you aren't serious. If you don't work, you are already mooching off us working folk! You don't deserve anything, but a kick in the rear.

I think this will help a lot of people that struggle from month to month. I also hope that the retired like my mom (on SS) do get some money. They deserve it also. They worked all there life & have to live in poverty now with slim to no medical & no prescription plans at all. To get real of Columbia SC. Don't you have a elderly parent? Well think about what you said about people that don't work that mooch.

I guess you never had a mom that stayed at home to take care of her children. That is who you are also stating don't deserve the money, because they didn't work. They also deserve the money.

i dont know about that.. lol i am a stay at home mother.. but am not married to my sons father, even though we have been together for 5 years now.. he will only get the 600 for single plus money for the child.. we def. can use the extra cash.. i mean, we arent nec. poor, but working class with bills to pay.. i choose to stay at home with my son and wish the govt would give me some money for doing my "job" everyday. but yet they give money to the people who sit on their asses with no children via food stamps etc.. everyday.. and just because some dont work doesnt mean they are mooching off of anyone, im sure not.

i dont think this will help our economy much.. i mean, we arent gonna blow our cash on new items.. just put in savings and pay some bills with it. and i dont think most americans are gonna blow their money either..

But i wish that it was given due on dependents, because i am a dependent of my bf.. he can claim me on his income taxes because he pays for more than 50% of my cost of living and we have a child together.. but this refund only really helps married people.. what about partnerships?? i think it should have been on the amount of dependents and money you make a year. not children and marriage

hey i just replied to that statement (which i think my other post is gonna be above this one)

and i cannot tell you how happy i would be if the govt would give me something for being a mother and actually staying home and taking care of my child. i DO NOT get food stamps, medicaid, cash assistance, wic.. anything..

but man, i wish sometimes that i could mooch off the system too.. my bf works his a$$ off everyday at work in order for me to stay home these 3 years with my son.. we def. needed this money and wish i could get some too.. ;)

You know the goverment should keep the money and buy drug screening kits for all people who are on welfare. Have you ever notice how many drug addicts are on welfare. Gosh! How many of you have to take a drug test to keep your job? This will surely help the goverment and keep some of the drug sales down on the streets. This should help everyone in the long run!

i swear to god i have thought the same thing!
before getting on state assistance you should have to pass a drug test

i know for a fact that the people next door to me are on food stamps and i have seen their son buy pot right in front of my face before and they smoke it outside all the time. it makes me sick.. i swear, the next time i smell it i am going to call my the police. makes me sick that they can afford drugs.. buying it from these guys who come buy several times a week but yet cant afford food.

Recessions happen. People should be aware of this and prepare for it by NOT taking on so much debt. Consumers decided to buy stuff on credit without the money to pay for it and saved little to no money for "a rainy day".

Well, the rainy day is finally here, there's no money in the bank and the plastic is maxed out. WTH did people think would happen?

Not to be harsh, but you decided to have your child. You decided to stay home with that child. It is NOT the taxpayer's responsibility to pay for YOUR choices. WTH, do you think the government gets "its" money?

The Federal Government sends billions to aid other countries and has spent 500 billion on the iraqi fiasco. If the dufuses up there can do that, then spending a poultry 160+billion is a drop in the bucket...A better stimulus IMO would be to drop gas and food prices to 2001 levels, at least that would stimulate my pocketbook. That is where my largest outlay of cash goes...

July is not soon, and this money will do nothing to stimulate the economy.
