I suspect that many or most of the guys in this thread who are slamming the U.N., wouldn't have been caught dead in a protest march with Dr. King in the 60s. In fact, I assume that they or their parents jumped up and delightedly high-fived one another when news of Dr. King's assassination hit the headlines...

In other words, a complete DISINTEREST in the issues of social justice and racial reconciliation. I wish I weren't so cynical, but with these comments we see here, I don't see much room for optimism.

I in no way mean to demean your experiences or opinions, but just wish to share mine with you. I also have experienced very rude customer service. I have also been the person doing the serving. There were times as a watier, I just despised all customers, now I never acted like the clerk you met, but I sure wasn't like Richard Simmons. Possibly he just had a crap day, or really hates his job ( I know that is not an excuse but may be a reason).

A little backgroudn, in Hawaii, Whites are not the majority, Asians are, of which I happen to be(also some white). I went to a bar where I was one of two Asians with oh, fifty or so Caucasions. It felt like I was being stared at, but I realized I was just uncomfortable because I could not figure out as easily who the possible trouble makers might be. Nothing happened, everyone was courteous.

People being rude to you or I may not have anything to do with our race. Possibly they believe I slighted them in some way, or they are having a bad day, or they are just a just be jerk.

Just my opinion. I was wondering what your thoughts are.

You think Mexicans, Asians and Arabs like you? The first would kill you at the drop of a hat, the second thinks you are nothing more than base animals (watch their television) and the last has enslaved more of you than anyone else in history. Whites aren't unique in being hated by other races. No one gets along!

Listen, I'm a governmental conservative a moral conservative and political progressive. I know that being disagreeable isn't the answer. A smaller government can only work if the people are on good terms. It can only work if the people aren't being exploited. None of this can be done if we're race baiting. And people do race bait.

Some of the very people in this group miss that. Why? Because society pits us against each other. This particularly happens if people are not rich. Why? Because people who aren't rich usually have to give their labor to companies that get rich off of their labor. Sooner or later those companies abandon those people. Those companies devalue those people.

When people are underpaid or not paid at all, all we can do is fight against each other. And we have the easiest lines to do that. Race. Gender. Religion. It's wrong.

If people want this gov't to be whole, people will focus on how the gov't works and who the gov't works for. People will hold the gov't accountable. People will be the gov't.

Let's not do this. Let's not go to these places. Let's be better about this.

After Jesus gave his sermon on the mount, he noticed that there were thousands of men who were far away and none of them were eating. He asked what there was to feed them or where they might go to get food. His response was essentially "there is nothing we can do." It was very clear that it was a test. This is were Jesus divides the loaves of bread and fish and feeds all of these men until they were full. FULL.

What is the point of this? God's kingdom is not based on the system that has constantly been at play. When people are in need, people give. That's the way of God. It doesn't matter if you have the tools. You fine a way. That is the way of a follower of Jesus.

And this is the way we need to be. Let's not make excuses for why we can't help. Let's not excuse racism because the problem is too big. Why? Because it's untrue. These things are possible if you commit to working at them.

Work first and understand later.

It would seem the only racist on this thread is you. If people don't agree with your weak point of view you play the race card. And like most race-baiters your biggest fear is facts and stats.
I have no problem with any other races blacks included. I have traveled pretty extensively and worked with people from all over the globe. In fact I am currently working on something in Trinidad . What a huge difference in the blacks there vs here.

And quite honestly all the groups you mentioned have the same problems with the black culture in the US as I do. Take a look at the national polling results for the current election and you'll see I'm right.

And for the record, I work for an Asian comp. and you don't want to know what think about the black culture in the US. Some of my closest friends business contacts are Spanish and Indian,they complain about the drain blacks are on the system.
I guess you could say they have been assimilated into the American culture.

I didn't say people from the ghetto couldn't rise above it, I said people that praise ghetto culture...

Don't try to confuse statistical trends by throwing in statistical abnormalities. There aren't many honor roll students and future doctors/lawyers/astronauts coming out of the ghetto.

How other minorities feel about Blacks is at issue because they are all present in America and the issue is racism in America. Unless you think it isn't racist when Muslim cab drivers won't stop and pick up a Black man?

Also, very interesting how once again you try to prove statistical trends through personal experience. It really speaks about your lack of formal education.

AMEN, AMEN, AMEN...I am glad to see now that there is someone who actually knows what a Caucasian is besides me. I have claimed my right to be a Native American for many years now. I was born in America, I was raised in America, and I still live in America. That makes me a Native American.

There is more racism per captia in Africa than there is in any other continent on the globe. If it weren't for the black on black slave trade in the 1700-1800's, there would be very few black in the US right now.
