I don't understand how the American people can elect a man of Islamic descent. All the trouble we are having is due to the Islamic people and we (some people) are trying to get one of the elected as president. His name should have caused lights to go off Barack Husain Obama, what American heritage is that. Was he named after Sadam Husain? It don't make since to me how this can be happening to our wonderful country. Just like immagration and all the illegals here flying the flag of Mexico in their yard and on the vehicles. It should be against the law. Theodore Roosevelt in 1907 said "There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who is an AMERICAN, but something else also, isn't an AMERICAN at all. We have room for but one flag, the AMERICAN flag...We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language...And we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the AMERICAN people."
We need to get back to this way of thinking and stop being afraid of stepping on someones toes. This is our country, we should fight to keep it ours.

When he comes here, lets make sure and ask him to sing the National Anthem and Make him state the Pledge of Allegiance and see if he turns his back! As Earl Pitts says on the radio and I quote "WAKE UP AMERICA"

Wake up America!!! He's only coming to Indiana because now he needs us. Also why is he coming during the big ten tournament, let people enjoy basketball. What a joke!! I wonder if he will attend any games and sit or turn his head during the national anthem?

Joe,

What does the Pledge of Allegiance have to do with anything? Do you say it everyday? I can't remember the last time I said it.

Would you rather have an economy that thrives or a President that sings?

What if he did not want to pray?

Big deal.

Hi. I was wondering where you are getting all the misinformation. First of all Barak Obama was born with his name. Why should he change it? He is American and raised in Hawaii. His religious background is Christian. Hussein is spelled as such and it is a common name. He was not named after Saddam. He is just as American as anyone. My great great Grandparents immigrated from Czechoslovakian. I am white, I am an atheist, and I am more of a socialist. Does that scare you?
We don't have to agree on religion, abortion, immigration but we the people need to get one thing straight. We don't run this country. Big corporations do. Since the beginning is has been the rich and powerful. They put class against class, race against race, religion against religion. Why you may ask? It's an easy way to control THE PEOPLE. Until us 99% can stand up to the controlling 1%.
Do you also have a problem with the United States supplying Iraq and Saddam with weapons in the past?
Please rethink what you have just said and rationalize it. Does it really make sense?
You could read "A People's History of the United States" by Howard Zinn for a history lesson.
It's comments like yours that keep the hatred and division of the people going.

That's my point! No Pleadge of Allegiance in schools and also you can't even remember the last time you said it. For a fact, I do say the pledge of Allegiance each day. People like you who can't even remember the last time they said the Pledge of Allegiance is what is wrong with America! Know the history of this country you call home!!! Also a nation that thrives, how about a nation that is free!!! I'll take freedom and with that said I gurantee I will thrive from that!

Obama isn't going to lower gas prices anymore than Bush raised them. The president is someone to point the finger at. The people who truely run the country are the ones who own Exxon and BP, with their payoffs.

Joe,
Yes. That is exactly what is wrong with America; we don’t say the Pledge. That is why our Country is an economic disaster. If only everyone would start the day with a pledge we would be in much better shape. Ha. Ha. As for the schools having the Pledge every morning, what would it add to the educational process? In my opinion, it adds nothing. You can teach all required subject matter that the State requires without pledging something each morning.

Thanks.

No saying the pledge isn't going to change the country. But when you do say the pledge it is a time to reflect back on the people who fought for the freedom that we have. My grandfather was a POW in WWII and in the prison camps that is all they had was what they had learned the pledge and the national anthem. What is wrong with the country is people not having respect for it and what it stands for and not especting the people who fought and died to give us that freedom. When was the last time you stopped and thuoght about that other then when you were reminded to do so on the Holidays that we set aside for it. Most of the country don't we all are to busy satisfing "self". We don't care because it didn't effect us.

Joe, make me abunch of promises I can't keep and tell me a bunch of lies. Tell me everything is going to be all right and you'll make the country better for me. Then I'll vote for you. That is all politicians do, Dem. or Rep. They say something that makes you all warm and fuzz inside and you vote for them. None of them will change anything. I vote for the one who tells you they are feeding you bull. The honest crook.

as i was scrollin down through some of these uniformed posts I was boiling over with response. Then I read Rational Thinkers post...it's really got some weight to it...im willing to bet a lot heavier than judgin someone on their name alone! come on America lets show the world that we're not a bunch of idiots that actually believe everything that we hear on talk radio or the morning news...(so far the numbers show that people are thinking for themselves.)so when i heard of the Rezko guy and Obama I went and researched it and saw that Obama donated the 10,000 dollars his campaign receieved to charity. and about the pledge of allegiance...have you ever seen Obama not put his hand over his heart? i mean with your own eyes..don't believe all that you hear America! in fact don't believe me go do some research which requires more than one source. in fact go check out Current.TV? Obama '08! peace, Anthony Adams

I too question why people are supporting him when he has consistently voted against their interests. I think it is because they do not know the REAL truth about him. I have faith. The truth will surface -I just hope it surfaces in time before people select someone who has fooled them as their choice for presidential candidate. Please pass this info on to everyone you know-this is the only way the truth can get out. Vote for whomever you want but PLEASE read these articles & pass them on to others. Time is running out.
He markets himself as an anti-war candidate (diplomacy etc...) but look who he asked to advise him on foreign affairs- Zbigniew Brzezinski.
Also, he presents himself as being above all this divisive racial slur hoopla that has been happening in campaign but read who Sen Obama has hired to manage his campaign & why...
Read about Sen Obama's legislative record AND about Mr. Brzezinski. The facts are accurate. They have been confirmed. Google anything for yourself if you still need to be convinced.

Damning article on how much Sen Obama REALLY cares about the voters and their issues-and- just how good was his legislation for the people?

Wish you could tell our founding Fathers what you think of the pledge and people reciting it! I believe you would get an a** whoppin!

Fireman,

When was the last time I thought about people serviing? Everyday. I have family that is active and serivng. Just because people don't say the Pledge does not mean they are not thinking about those who have served. It also does not make them less of an American.
