And we have only your word for that. Have you ever been to America or do you base your analysis on what you see on TV?

Well maybe, just maybe, if they faced the facts that are so shady about them, people wouldn't have such a problem with it. If he came out and said yeah my parents were crazy for giving me that name, I would laugh and move on and forget about it. That's the problem with people. Everyone is so depressed and angry an serious all the time. Joke around a little bit. Lighten up people. You only live once.
Really Chelsea I don't think making fun of his name is a good idea. There are too many people out there who would enjoy it too much. Thing is with the shape this country is in right now the last thing we need is a president who makes jokes about serious issues. Having said that I really do like a good joke. I prefer a good comedy over a horror or even action flic. I do agree that the whole world needs to lighten up but there is a time and place for comedy and the presidential race is not one of those places. In my opinion.

Have a nice day.

<quoted text>Well dumb one, you can voice your opinion where you want. Try commenting on McCain's assertion that the Iraq War can be "won" in 4 years. If YOU DON'T LIKE IT, FIND YOURSELF A THREAD WHERE YOU CAN POST ALL THE OFFTOPIC THINGS YOU WANT.
Speaking about McCain and the war -- Did you view the congressional hearing on the Iraq war yesterday? It was on C-span. But it got no coverage on the news.

Yesterday, the Iraqis said repeatedly that they want the US military to leave Iraq. They said the violence in Iraq was caused by Iraqis that were against the US occupation. They also said that as soon as the US leaves, the fighting among them would end.

But most importantly they said that any agreement signed by Bush without approval of the entire Iraqi governing body would not be viewed as legal. They ask that the US set a withdrawal date in the very near future and leave Iraq.

Iraqi lawmakers told Congress on Wednesday that they have serious misgivings about a long-term security agreement being negotiated this year with President Bush, putting themselves squarely in line with Democrats who say hashing out a deal before Bush leaves office is bad timing.

Good response...

Why not discuss the issues? Obama's name is not an issue.

It's 3PM in the afternoon and the phone is ringing in the White House. Who would you rather have answering that call, a wide-awake, alert Barack Obama or Grumpy Tired John McCain who has just been startled awake from his afternoon nap?

Go Obama

Very interesting!!! I am not surprised though. The Bush administration would have us believe that Iraq is delighted, even thrilled for us to be there. Of course smart money is always on the opposite of whatever the Bush admin. tells us to believe.

LOL do you feel a little better about yourself? Yeah? Well I could stoop to your level and call you a bunch of names, which you definitly are, but no, I think I have a little more class than that. You need to just realize what is funny lol. And yeah I did say how Obama and Clinton could be funny. BIG DEAL! I think it would be funny if they made fun of themselves like that. Okay, we have a different sense of humor. I guess my point you wonderful person is that I'm nicer and more mature about it.:-)
For the sake of our overseas friends, who seem to be oddly attracted to American forums and yet repulsed by passionate women, I am willing to let it go.

In fact, I'll be busting open the champagne when Obama wins in November and you, Chelsea my friend, are invited!:):):)

You won't be alone, our neighborhood dinner group (ok, happy hour) is split between McCain and Obama, so it won't be enemy territory :)

You are so right, except that the candidates have figured out that young people get most of their news from SNL, John Stewart, and late night TV. So the candidates market themselves there. THe young vote is hard to get, so it's a forum to reach them. Of course it's without important issues, but it is just entertainment.

:)oh.. Me too.

My point was that you and I don't use John Stewart or SNL as our primary news source. John Stewart is "smarter" humor than SNL though. So I guess I'd feel better with someone getting their news from him than Weekend Update :)

The thing about John and Steven is you have to be smart enough to know what is and is not a joke. I like John because he is not afraid to push the envelope with his guests. It is strange to think some people actually do believe all they see on TV these days. I think all media outlets are in a rush to beat each other to a story so they will put unsubstantiated news on the air. People see these stories and consider them gospel. It is rather sad to see.

The media picks up on the strangest things too. Yesterday they were LEADING the hour with Obama "pounding" his wife. Like it is a new thing. I've been knuckling or pounding students in leiu of high five for years (less germs ;)

That does sound bad though, right? Pounding students?

The problem is the US media. They do not want us to know what's really going on. McCain knows that the Iraqis do not want us there, yet he keeps talking about winning the war. The Iraqis want us out of there.

The US relations with the Iraqi leaders are falling apart. After the Iraqis met with the US Congress on Wednesday,(not reported in the news) the US took control of Iraqis money. Bush is trying to force the Iraqis to keep US troops in Iraq by taking their money. Still Iraq has refused to sign the agreement.

Check out the articles below

http://www.iraqupdates.com/p_articles.php/art...
The US is holding hostage some $50bn (£25bn) of Iraq's money in the Federal Reserve Bank of New York to pressure the Iraqi government into signing an agreement seen by many Iraqis as prolonging the US occupation indefinitely, according to information leaked to The Independent.

US negotiators are using the existence of $20bn in outstanding court judgments against Iraq in the US, to pressure their Iraqi counterparts into accepting the terms of the military deal, details of which were reported for the first time in this newspaper yesterday.

http://www.iraqupdates.com/p_articles.php/art...
Disagreements between Iraqi and US delegations over issues relating to "sovereignty" in a draft strategic agreement organizing relations between the two countries disrupted the negotiations between the two sides.

I saw that. It reminded me of when everyone accused him of flipping off Hillary. I guess news was slow on days these things were reported. I rather like his closeness with his wife. When I see them together I think to myself that he really loves his wife. I think it is very sexy when a man has enough confidence to show his affection to his wife in public.

Thank you for the links. I swear NOTHING this administration does surprises me anymore. I so look forward to the day when Obama takes the Office from that poor excuse for a leader, Dubya, of course.

Do you know how ignorant you are sounding? I have never watched John Stewart or any of those late night shows. Yeah I saw SNL, but i don't get my facts from there. I get them from Big People News Stations.:-) You are so ignorant if you really generalize all teens like that. Well you kind of got to be a little slow to want a president who won't even put his hand over his heart for the pledge of alligence to the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. You know, the country he is trying to be president of.

I'm not saying everything needs to be a joke. So if I'm not taking his name as a joke, i'm kind of scared. Wow you people actually want a president whose name is Hussein! Umm I think we heard about some guy with that name. Oh who was he. Oh yeah! That dictator who killed his people. You're right, lets elect him!
