Notre Dame has let down the Catholic faith and should seriously consider becoming a secular institution in name as well as practice (it is already there in my opinion). The leaders of the church are cowardly catholics.

Gee Obama, since you're on the subject of religion. why don't you tell us what your pastor, Rev. Wright had to say on the subject. Why quote a Catholic Cardinal you hardly know. Surely Rev. Wright had some interesting comments about abortion, whites and the genocide on the black community, which I suspect you and Michelle bought into.

Well since you mentioned Rev Wright, please tell us about James Dobson, he annointed GW the Moron Bush.., something is wrong with the christian religion. AS I SEE IT ----- Mike "Mainer Mike" Brown. One thing I'm sure of is that the abortion debate will never end. Both sides have legitimate arguements. But the thing is, I don't care anymore! I've been hearing about this topic as far back as I can remember, and I'm tired of it. I'd rather talk about issues that can actually be resolved, issues that are more important than this abortion subject. That's AS I SEE IT. I'm Mike "Mainer Mike" Brown.

Gotta love those holy rollers who went to all these extremes at ND for the unborn child. But the big question for these joker hypocrites -Where are they when the same institution that is so against harming the unborn child when the priests were (and still are) molesting the born child. Why is is ok to molest a child but not abort one? where is the outrage at ND against the Catholic leaders for molesting the born child? these holy rollers are COWARDS - scared to face the RC leaders and demand them to stop and be accountable. No feel good 'going to heaven' feeling confronting the RC leaders. Just eating their bs and spitting it out side by side with them is the way to get to heaven i suppose.

O my. The graduates at Notre Dame will have to deal with a real world that includes apposing views. Sounds like they are not prepared to debate ideas but are indoctrinated into believing what others have told them.

How about this: If you're a U.S. citizen/taxpayer whose moral beliefs are pro-life then you should not be forced to fund such efforts. If you're a liberal that believes in abortions then the IRS can place a little donation block on your tax return and you can donate whatever amount your heart desires for abortions and condoms ad nauseum. Just don't force your beliefs and take our money to enforce, a make us complicit in what many consider is murder...

Abortion may not be important to you, but it is very important to the unborn child about to be aborted. Notre Dame has lost $49,000,000. in donations since it was announced the Pro Partial Birth Abortion President would speak there. And they will lose more. It will never be looked at by Cathoics the same way again.

He attended an open-air Mass and rally. He said he wanted to support the students protesting Obama's speech. "All of you are heroes, and I'm proud to stand with you," he said.

I can see where you're coming from Mike, but the abortion debate has so much more at stake than other political issues. There are real human lives involved. It's not about right or left, it's about wrong and right. We can't turn our back on the innocent lives that are being lost everyday. My heart goes out to anyone forced with the desperation an abortion decision must bring. The psycological effects of that decision can be very damaging to women later in life. Not to mention that it's a death sentence for the unborn child. The dehumanization of life dates very far back unfortunately. Abortion has become so commonplace in todays society that we have come to a place of acceptance. It's a very sad indication of the loss of compassion in this country. I think the real enitlement for abortion was a white plot against blacks back when they were breeding like rabbits. The white elite thought their much increased numbers would put them in power. It looks like it worked up until now.

C'mon the President is the president and if he were at my commencement I would respect it even though I differ with his opinion. Are you going to ban all pro-choice leaders from ever speaking at a Catholic University? Granted the invite should have never been given but it was so let's respect the choice and get on with it.

Name one priest of the Congregation of the Holy Cross who has been convicted of child molestation. 2. Show proof that the incidence of sexual misconduct toward minors is higher among Catholic clergy than among the male clergy of any other religion, male public school teachers or men in general. 3. Since the invitation was in defiance of the Conference of Catholic Bishops, wouldn't that indicate Notre Dame was willing to stand up to the leadership of the church?

With all the things that need to be fixed in this country Obie is choosing to spend his time speaking at colleges and getting undeserved honorary degrees...and for doing what? Being a one term senator that spent half his time campaigning for the presidency? Obie has proven that he wasn't ready for the job. There's a lot of speeches happening but not much else. When will Obie stop sucking up the limelight and get to work?
