It didn't happen overnight. But in college, the young Barry took to being called by his formal name. What this evolution tells us about him.

you ain't NO republican - it is obvious you are telling a lie!

you are a socialist/democrat trying to justify obama's racism & his rezko, ayers, farrakhan, meeks, wright, and nafta lies!

It is what we don't know about our most liberal senator that scares me! Not the fact that he calls White America "typical White persons"!

And when he had a liberal Ohio judge keep only black precincts open in Cuyahoga county for and extra 2 hours - I knew he didn't really give a darn about White America!!!

he kept black/obama only precincts open to pad his vote total as to not lose as many delegates!

Couple this with all his racist support baggage and obama is a terrible candidate!!!!!!!!!!

And not a one of these posts is about the title of the thread, lol. I too outgrew my childhood nickname and asked to be called by my given birth name in a kind of "I am who I am" transformation so I relate to a man named Barak doing likewise.

What do I think is so great about Obama?

Well, as a 66 year old, I've seen a lot of elections and Presidents in my time. The experience thing is a red herring; John F Kennedy had no more experience, nor did Bill Clinton. Saying Hillary has experience means you think Mamie Eisenhauer was a qualified Commander-in-Chief.

I guess the main thing I like about Obama is he reminds me of JFK with his good humored, even tempered great intellect, his class and willingness to develop new approaches to old problems.

But mainly I want a President I can be proud of, a President that makes me smile and be confident of as I see him step briskly off a plane in a foreign country with a smile on his face and being greeted by citizens that love and admire a popular world leader. I want a President who uses war and invasion as a last resort, not as his first threat and option while talking like Darth Vader.

I want a President who makes us smile with his easy manner and even an occasional Press Conference joke. I want a President who sends a message to the world by sending the Peace Corps to foreign countrie to make friends, instead of sending the Marines to make war. I want a President who will lighten up our relationship with the world.

I want a President who cares for the least among us instead of concentrating on profits for Oil interests and large corporations.

I want a President who understands the way today's world works, not one committed to failed policies and positions of a bygone day.

I want a young leader for the future, a new leader for a new time, not an old man tied to the past.

I want a President I can be proud of when I see him on TV. A President who can bring us together instead of playing us off against each other to garner votes.

I want Barack Obama!

YES WE CAN!

It was Blyth, and he was adopted by his step father Mr. Clinton. The same way that Leslie Lynch Jr. became Gerald Ford Jr. So, what's your point?

HUmanist, jefferson davis point is to be attributing something to obama changing his name is akin to clinton changing his name. thats their business but to criticize the changing of a name is stupid.
appreciate your correcting his mistake. i know we got a lot of perfectionists on this post who never slip and make mistakes.
anyway take care and have a good day.

Please DON'T VOTE EARLY!..... For those of you that believe Senator Obama and his family slept during Rev. Wright's radical sermons ~ Please DON'T VOTE EARLY!

There are more questions and associations for Obama to explain:[1] Emil Jones, Democratic leader of the Illinois state senate,[2] William Ayers, unrepentant terrorist and former Weatherman [a regular Obama campaign supporter and fellow board member for the Woods Fund of Chicago], and [3] slumlord and political "fixer" Antoin "Tony" Rezko, now on trial in Chicago's federal court.

The Press has given Obama a "free pass", and has done a disservice to America! However, they can't fool all the people forever ~ so DON'T VOTE EARLY! There's more for us to find out about this candidate!
Not as easy as that

.So, in otherwords, you want a touchy feel good person who will smile and make all of our problems go away? Bull Pucky! I want a president who will look the leader of a wimpy little country such as Iran straight in the eye, draw his line in the sand, and tell the 'lil dicktator to do as he is told, or he will nuke the little bas tard until he GLOWS! That's what I will be proud of!!! I am so sick & tired of watching the greatest country in the world get sand kicked in it's face. It's time we had someone take these 'lil dicktators out behind the shed for a little talkin' too. That is a President I would be proud of, and sir, that is NO Barack Hussain Obama!

Yeah. that's all the article is saying. He outgrew 'Barry'.

Newsweek needed 7 pages and 3 reporters to say that.

Well it is a particularly slow political news cycle now that there are no pressing contests around the corner. It gives time for the Obama family to take a breather in the Virgin Islands and Hillary to rework her chalkboard, given recent events.
