Congrats Ta'Shia. You and Amber together should make for a tough matchup no matter whether the team on the other side is wearing black and gold, orange and white, or dark blue and white.

Good luck!!

Amber's dumb as a box of rocks -- Ta'Shia is the slowest black girl I've ever seen -- not to mention that bad back of hers.

Good Luck at X. Karma is a motha!

maybe the young lady thought she might want to continue her jesuit education at the university level, in a city, on a newly renovated campus and stadium? naw, that couldn't be it - could it?

What ever happened to Frank Kendrick after his situation at Purdue? I do not believe he used his contacts to energize another college program...I bet the Gary Steelheads probably did not have the same recruiting budget as X.

well based on the merriweather tradition, xavier should be ousting an assistant soon. Recruiting violations and inappropriate relations got one shipped oout of purdue, but purdue only want to talk about what the merriweathers are doing now...deflect that negative attention. btw, no coincidence the last coach left purdue after her "questionable" recruiting ties to indianapolis disappeared.

Congrats to this fine young woman who chose to continue her education at a Catholic university. Boo hiss to the Purdue fans who have turned on her and others.

Will there be others next year that will follow Amber and Ta'Shia to Xavier...All Xaxier need is a guard and they will be contenders in two years......

Congratulations to this young lady on her college choice. Obviously, a lot of time and thought went into making her decision. I'm a Purdue graduate and would have loved to see her wearing my school's colors on the court, but I wish her nothing but success at XU.

As my name states I am a Cincinnati Bearcat Fan, but I have to give Xavier props for there recruiting of Ladies Basketball players. A job well did X Ladies. I know I U, Purdue, Notre Dame and the other D-1 schools in Indiana must be envious.

The only thing X deserves "props" for is buying a very good player -- just like Brebeuf did for four years. Anyone who knows anything about Jesuits knows that they are all about the money. THAT is the "Jesuit Philosopy." I'm just wondering how much they really payed for her and Amber. Where are the Star investigative reporters? Why isn't someone "following the money?"

Hey Hoosier,

Bitter Much? Just kidding, I'm sure you are right in your conspiracy theory. Could it be that she wanted to go to a quality school, new city and play with a friend, nah, that couldn't be it.

Welcome to X Ta'Shia, I will look forward to watching you play for the next 4 years! Congrats!

I would have liked to see TaShia go somewhere with more exposure, I can understand her wanting to play with her friend and be close to home. I just hope that "following the friend" was a better move in the long run, as opppose to getting a fresh start somewhere to be a house hold name all by yourself.. I'm very proud of Tashia...leave Merriweather alone...he can't help it that he is an opportunist! ;)

Maybe if you'd gone to a Jesuit school you'd know how to spell. Hmmm, must be another bitter Purdue fan.

Purdue fans should be comfortable with losing by now. Men's and woman's basketball, nothing. Football, nothing. Maybe Purdue should look to Xavier and see how one gets out of it's big brother's shadow (UC for X and IU for Purdue) and stats to dominate, but that will never happen because Purdue sucks. Xavier is a better school all-around. The only thing Purdue has on Xavier is the number of fat girls roaming the campus.

"X marks the Spot," The Purdue Women's team was in the Elite Eight this year and X was one and out. Purdue has also had a national championship and a runner up year in the past 10 years. Xavier was one and out and that was only because GW got upset earlier in the A-10 tourney. Being from Xavier, you obviously know NOTHING about women's college basketball. You also know nothing about what has been going on in Indiana with the club these girls played for. Something is rotten here and it will come out eventually, hopefully with a suspension for Xavier!
PLEASE, DO TELL. WHAT ABOUT THE "CLUB" THEY PLAYED FOR HERE IN INDIANAPOLIS? WHAT IS ROTTEN WITH THE FAMILY PROGRAM? I WOULD LIKE TO HEAR ALL THAT YOU KNOW ABOUT IT.

Yes! The Merriweather's have truly taken advantage of another one. I reviewed her list of potential colleges of choice a few days ago (Ill, ND, Penn St, Xav, Washington, Indiana, and a few other...) and noticed that each college listed had a job opening. In addition, I heard how the Merriweather girl was shopping her self around at the final four, gauranteeing the delivery of Phillip's..."if hired!" -- What a shame.
