More hyper-whining and multi-excuse-making from Basketball Weber.
'In our seven losses, we were either tied or within one possession
in the last two minutes' of winning, says the fallacious, delusional
24/7 spin doctor Weber.
The beat writer desperately needs to get in touch with his professional
ethics and fact-checking flair.

The players lack talent, the staff lacks the abilty to develop players.
That has been the story at U of I since 04/05. Name on player sine then that has developed?

Both the SIU Salukis, coached by Chris Lowery who was Weber's assistant at the U of I, and the Illini are having similar issues this year. Both teams are constructed similar to one another offensively and defensively. They both have had the same coach over the past few years, which have been successful seasons for both programs. However, both teams lost players who were the leading scorers and who were comfortable providing leadership to their teams. The last quality is sometimes as important as the other, especially in times like these, and not all upperclasmen are adept at being leaders. This is "one of those years" for both teams. I do not think that both Lowery and Weber have turned into non effective coaches overnight. However, they might have to make adjustments they have not had to make in the past, and sometimes that takes a bit of time to figure out. Fans in the state might get their long awaited match up between the U of I and SIU if they meet in the NIT's, as the NCAA's may not be a reality for either team this year. Their salvation might be their conference tournaments.
