Shame on you, Billy. You have lived in Lexington far too long! How can you get on U of L for doing the only tbing they can do to fund our sports projects because the guys who control state money bleed blue and are red with jealousy.
The people in Louisville take pride in their own and I used to think you were part of that.

HOME FIELD ADVANTAGE (enough said about that) BUT- tell us billy will the lexington wildcats invite OUR band members to play on their field at halftime. Get your head out of your azz. We all know lexington doesn't have a football team that you could possibly write anything good about, and then you open your no-good trap to say some b/s about your rival team in the national spotlight. Get used to the national spotlight thing too.

I posted this on another thread, but I think it belongs here too.

Here's the real scoop.

Both bands were scheduled to play their shows for three and a half minutes. BOTH bands, equal time. Now I don't know all the details, but at some point too close to game day, school officials figured out that there wouldn't be enough time for both bands to play while including all the presentations. I don't know the details about all of this, because I won't know what presentations are going on until I see them at the game. Our band was considering giving OUR time over to WV band, as that would be the courteous thing to do. It turns out though, that this decision wasn't up to us. A local group will be performing a feature during halftime, and the UofL band will be accompanying them. About including them in pre-game, that was another idea bounced around. But by that time, there would be no way of coordinating it. Whenever we split pre-game between two bands (like what we did with Kentucky), we rehearse with them early before the game. But, we have an engagement prior to the game during our normal practice time. There just wasn’t enough time to try to get this organized. Not to mention that trying to organize this at the last minute might have made things difficult with WV band's schedule as well, because they have various stops and performances along the way to Louisville.

As you can see, there were quite a number of things that made this situation difficult for all of us. But so that there are no hard feelings between us and to show our goodwill, the members of the UofL band have prepared a little something for the members of WV band. This was an idea that came straight out of the band, guided by section leaders and service groups within the ranks of the band itself. We hope that it serves as a little thank you, for traveling so far to join us in what will be an awesome game!!
