Turnovers Spell Trouble In UConn Loss To WVU

There's only so much you can ask a defense to do. And holding West Virginia's offense is a lot to ask. Full Story

THATS what REAL college football is all about Connecticut!

Let's GOOOOOOO Mountaineers!

You can dress and try to act like the "Big Boys" but being a real national powerhouse comes from more than a league application and acceptance and new stadium.

There's work involved in earning those league endorsements and national air time......

Not enough depth at key positions.

Can't make mistakes.

Gotta execute.

You just waited online to talk about the University of Connecticut football team.

We win. You lose.

This loss rests solely on the shoulders of Rob Ambrose. He is too cute by 1/2. This is a pattern that goes back to the Meinke Bowl. He needs to take what the defense is giving, and work that until the defense stops it. UConn ran well in the first half so what does he do in the second half? Stop running the ball. With the third string QB starting just his second game, a weak group of receivers, its a no-brainer work the run until WV stops it. You have the nations leading rusher, running helps utilize the clock, keeps the ball away from WV. I don't remember a single screen pass, something that helps the QB, and usually goes for big yardage for the Huskies. Another thing to consider, you need to get your best athletes onto the field wherever you can. Why not utilize Andre Dixon as a slot, or wideout. This is college football, not the pros. Althought one thing the Patriots do that UConn should consider, take what the defense will give you, don't try to force your gameplan onto the defense. Coaches are supposed to help utilize the players to achieve success, Ambrose is doing the opposite.

Don't mind Marcus, he is just another UCONN die hard who is very sensitive when ANYONE criticizes the football team. Why? I have no idea. UCONN fans were given yet another reality check yesterday about where the football program really stands and they just can't handle it. People like us criticize the team on this forum and Marcus is constantly on here defending them.

Desperately Needed:
1 quarterback coach
1 offensive coordinator
1 intelligent playcaller
1 kicking coach
Someone smart enought to recognize the above. Randy Edsall did a marvelouos job getting us to Division 1. Now someone is needed to take the team to the next level.

T6V, what ho, BG?(That's short for big guy. I did it because it rhymed.) Have you ever seen so many fair weather fans? I got a question for em all? How long has UConn been playing WVU? Now while they're thinking about that one (Don't you give em any hints, now.), let's see if they get this one. Which team held a 30 game winning streak against the Mountaineers?

It's a matter of perspective. I can remember when 9-3 or even 8-4 seasons (including bowl wins) were outstanding for WVU. WVU's had football for over 100 years, and has been a member of D-1 for well more than half of it. How long has UConn been in D-1? How long have they been playing football? T6V, I'm beginning to feel like Yoda. No patience have they.
