1 I think all of what you just said is why Frank Beamer scheduled such a grueling stint of games. He thinks his team is good enough and I think they stand a chance if Tyrod lives up to the hype. I guess it all remains to be seen with this VA Tech team. Of course, I'm rooting for them. |

3 TJ Yates? Please. Sept 5th as the first game? Last I checked there was a Sept. 3rd Thursday night NATIONALLY televised ESPN game featuring NC State vs South Carolina. Research! |

1 First, in talking about important out-of-conference matchups for the ACC, how could you leave out NC State's opening game against South Carolina? That could be the first game of the season where the ACC will set the tone against the SEC for the VT-Bama game two days later. Which brings me to my next point. The games don't BEGIN Sept. 5, as you concluded. In fact, if you take the time to actually check the college football schedule, there are games scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 3, including the aforementioned ACC-SEC battle. Finally, all you NCAA football fans out there can check out some preseason summer ranking analysis at the following link, with a blog post that includes rankings from all of the other prominent football sites for comparison: http://tinyurl.com/qtvwc2 |

Sorry but y'all are gonna get killed when Tyrod comes down. Last year Glennon was completely incompetent and you know it. Sorry maybe next decade. |

Granted he'll give us more of a challenge but he'll be tired come the end of the 3rd, and our D-Backs will eat his lunch. He ain't all that, just wore the BIG RED in High School which gives you added amperage. |

The games start on Sept. 3 with South Carolina visiting NC State

So, once again Tech is predicted to do something. When will people ever learn? When Tech's expected to do something, they fall flat on their face. When expectations are low, they suprise and are a top 15 team. I'll say this anytime anyone mentions Tech...Until they win a national championship, they cannot be taken seriously with the big boys of college football.
For years, they beat up on a rag tag joke of a schedule then lost when they played competent or even half competentteams. What's changed? Well, now they play a tougher schedule. That's great because there will be additional opportunities for them to get their lunch handed to them (Take Alabama in week 1. This will probably go like LSU a few years ago). So, keep on dreaming Hokie fans. Until they do it, they will always be a notch below the premiere programs. Continue racking up 9 or 10 wins and be huddled around 10-25 in the rankings. It's a different world to get to, and more importantly be at the top when it all ends. I can't believe I will root for Satan and company but Tech and their fans seem to always think they are bigger than they are. Now, go ahead Hokies and judge me as mean and wrong. The facts don't lie and that is that Tech is regularly good but never great program. 2009 will once agin prove that. |

Can't spell "overrated" without VT! |

First off, I can't take anything with the words "JMU" and "football" in the same sentence seriously. JMU stinks at football and can't hang with the big boys on the D-1A level. Winning a D-1AA national championship is like winning a high school state championship. Even during your best years our team would blow you out and have our second string in by the 3rd quarter. Envy is a bi*** ain't it, dawgs????
As for all the other haters out there, the past is the past. You all like to point to pass teams and claim this team can't win because of what the past teams did. I've got news for you...this always happens. People used to trash Mack Brown for not winning a National title until he finally won one with Young. People used to trash Bobby Bowden for coming up short until he won one with Charlie Ward in '93. Now everybody wants to trash Beamer and say all he does is win ACC titles and Orange Bowls but he doesn't win the big one. Well, Tyrod will make sure that changes... |
||||
JMU is part of another division due to size of their school and money associated with it. here is no shame that they are D1AA. It still doesn't change the fact that they have won at the level associated with their playing field. More importantly, how many national championships does Tech have? Until they do it, don't go spouting off on how great they are. |

JMU has more students than UVA does. i'm not saying anything is wrong with D1AA but they could be D1 anyday. they probably could beat UVA |

We wont do anything but laugh when all 20,000 get your butts kicked. |

Tech is not overrated. For all you nebraska fans, we came to lincoln last year and shut you up. So i dont want to hear it. Tyrod is a different player this year, hes gotten bigger and stronger, and hes changed his throwing motion. We are set at running backs for about five years with evans and williams and wilson. Our best receiver who got hurt preseason last year is back, plus boykin and roberts who have a full season under their belts. our defense is fine this year. we've got bud foster, enough said. tech has a good chance of going the distance in the next couple of years,but if you still want to hate a team that is more concerned with putting a decent team on the field than money(sec), whatever

Where are you going to put 20,000 corn holers? There are not that many seats available and I can GUARANTEE My Hokie nation will not be giving up seats. I know this because I have missed 2 home or away game in the last 5 years!!!!!! The corn holers better bring tailgating supplies and radios to sit in the parking areas. They won't be in Lane!!!! |
