Congrats to the Kent State Golden Flashes. Looks like the Zips will be staying home once again.

ESPN says Zip's schedule wanst could enough to even get an NIT bid if they lost, and they did.

GO Flashes deep into the NCAA's & show them the MAC is great !!!!

where are they??? where are all the whiny akron fans who barked like little chihuahuas all season about "4 in a row, 4 in a row" "kent sucks"?

where oh where are you now??? what rock did you crawl back under after your classy "d-u-i" chant late in the 2nd half when the game was well in hand??

Thanks for that, oh by the way. Thanks Akron faithful for showing your class in front of a national audience. Now the rest of the basketball watching country knows what we in Kent have known for quite awhile now - many of you have no idea what it's like to win, let alone win with dignity.

Steve you are an idiot. LBJ is the only superstar this area has ever seen. But alas he cannot win it by himself. No other stars want to come to this god foresaken part of the country to work and live. There is nothing here for them. Meanwhile, U of A craps in their hat again. Nice going.

Job well done Kent! It has been a pleasure to watch the flashes play hard, intense, and overall quality basketball for the past ten years.

Though he did not garner the tournament MVP as I had hoped, Mike Scott's contributions to the team can't be overlooked. He does not have the C on his jersey, but it is clear that he is the leader for this team on the court. He makes few mistakes, he's vocal, and he flat out plays hard.

Good luck in the Dance Kent!

Great to see both Akron and Kent State on National TV. Even greater to see Kent State win for the 3rd time against Akron, claim the MAC Championship and a trip to the NCAA tournament. GO FLASHES!

I also thought Mike Scott deserved the tourney MVP award. The most impressive thing he did last night was after that punk Linhart checked Singletary he kept everyone's heads cool and kept the situation from escalating. That's leadership.

I have to echo Hovey's post about the tasteless DUI chants coming from the Akron section at the end of the game. He didn't mention the three ".13" signs that classy bunch was also waving. I guess at that point the ship was sinking so they figured it was time to unload every last bit of classlessness they could muster. What a bunch of bums. I can tell you the UA alumni in section 107 where I was sitting weren't impressed.

Enjoy the CBI this year Zip fans, if you make it. Oh, and enjoy your 15-win season next year while Kent reloads and wins another MAC title.

go nowhere? I love it. Nowhere but the regular season conference title, the tournament title, three wins on national television and three wins over the akron zips. when kent state loses in the tournament, and everybody knows they eventually will...not just nomactitle err no nonsense up there...I look forward to the akron fans coming back to take a stab at the only team from the MAC to still be playing...the KENT STATE GOLDEN FLASHES!

No Sense - you're like a democratic presidential candidate - you can't say anything positive about yourself so you resort to putting the other side down.

Come back and talk smack when you've got something to brag about. Until then you'll just sound like a pathetic loser. But given what I saw at the Q last night, that's no surprise.

MMMMMMMMMMMM? Sounds eerily familiar to 2002. I`m not saying Kent will beat UNLV, but be VERY careful what you wish for, you may get it! NEVER underestimate your competition. Go Flashes!!!!!!!!!!
