In other news NM Gov. Bill Richardson said he was proposing an increase in the minimum fee for a cartel hit.

Its getting pretty bad. Just last week here on the east side 3 guys (with masks) and shotguns broke into a house where some people were playing poker and made off with thousands. It may have been an inside job but it's still scary.

New Mexico has got Very bad. Albuquerque has so many shotings they no longer report them all on the media. 3 years ago the son and brother of an APD officer broke into my moms house and shot my 14 year old son because my son had stuck up for a speical needs kid that the other kid was picking on. The kid of course got away with it. Im sure it was due to his law enforcement ties. Albuquerque has had so much murders its insane. I guess you can expect that when the politicans from NM dont even care to better the state.

Ya, ABQ is bad. Once had to watch ABQ news, talk about violence. Your left stressed from the ABQ news. Had to pull some strings to get the ElP news instead. But all thats changed. Sometimes its best to be unimformed and out in the country with a shotgun on your lap.

You know, my grandfather is 99 years old and he tells me stories of when he was little and stories that his father told him. Of course back in those days billy the kid was the big issue. My grandfather has told me while back in those days there was violence, it just seems as if there is so much more now. He says he thinks its because back in those days everyone carried a gun and knew how to use it, so for that most people minded their business. He says back then is when men were men. He says now a days you have boys trying to be men but never really had a man around to teach them how to be and thats why in his opinion things are so bad. I must agree with him. At 99 this man has more weapons than the military......lol

These days, kids are raised by the TV, Mom works, Dad has left, They get the violent video games that makes them numb to reality. If you hire a kid to work, you end up babysitting the kid and having to teach them the basics. My last employee didnt even know that you had to check the oil in your car.$$$

You're right. I see it so much with my kids friends. I home school my daughters. I was not going to alow them to go to high school with some of the kids in our area. The sad thing about it is that we live on Fort Bliss. Many of these kids have both parents but one or both get deployed and are left for someone else to take care of. My husband and I have been military for over 13 years and I know its a hard life that not everyone can handle, but if I knew it was effecting my kids to the point they were getting in trouble with the law, then that means I failed as a parent and I need to get out the job and focus on my kids more.
As for the kid that didnt even know to check his oil, that makes me laugh and think of a story my son told me the other day. He works in a very upscale restaurant in downtown Albuquerque. They just hired this kid as a "dishwasher" so this kid is just standing around and my son told him he needed to get working and he asked my son what do you want me to do? My son said well you're the dishwasher so you need to wash the dishes. The kids response was oh so when you call me a dishwasher thats really what you want me to do. My son said mom I didnt know if I should fire him or feel sorry for him being so stupid.

God bless the DeLoach family. As a long time Hobbsan, the death of Ron really touched my heart although I had never met him nor knew anything about him other than reading that he had come to Eunice/Hobbs to work as a hardworking man that he seemed to be coming all the way from Mississippi. And, God bless Artika (sp?) Heckard for testifying in court. It had to be a very difficult thing for her to do. She surely did it out of love for Ron. Without her testimony, I don't know if the outcome would have been the same. I don't know Artika either. I simply read about it all in the Hobbs newspaper. If not for the willingness of the witnesses in court, this tragedy may not have had the same outcome (a guility verdict) it seems.
