Ryan Smith was burnt many times last year. The Utes secondary is deep. No harm to the Utes. What this means is that the Gators secondary is very suspect.

If this guy is such a liability (getting burned so many times last year), and the Utes are really "deep" in their 2ndry...then, why was there such a loud moan from the state of "U" when it was announced he was leaving?

You got to like that Rusdawg. A former starter transfer and he wasn't kicked off the team for guns or screwing minors.

Ryan Smith was huge during the Fiesta Bowl Year. His ability to cover the opponents best receiver every game and without help allowed guys like Eric Weddle to make plays and look good. The Ute secondary is not as deep as you think. But time will tell. Urban Meyer knew what he had in Smith and thats why he snatched him at the first opportunity. As far as last season goes, the entire program regressed, why? Because Meyer left
and Whittingham is a joke. Expect much of the same this year as long as Whittingham is in charge.

I think that BYU has a good team, defense solid -proven in practice. No problem with the usual offense. I think will carry the Mountain west conference just fine.

ryan smith now leads the SEC with 6 interceptions and is among the leaders in the nation. Utah cant even compete in Mountain West

I have been reading all the comments and had to laugh at the one made saying the Gator secondary was suspect with Smith. That was at the start of the year. Eight interceptions later I wonder if that's still the thought.
