very concerned with performance of my former school for the years of not winning football games for many years. now i'm not there now, and maybe shouldn't question the pride or effort. but it tears my stomach to pieces to see my former school get kicked up and down the football field week in and week out. back in "79 and "80(two seasons that i played) we were #2 in the nation in total offense only behind BYU.(and at the top of just about every other offensive category in the nation). so i guess you can see why i am concerned about the last dozen or more years of seeing this football program struggle. now i know you say who is this "Bombzilla" fellow. well i was the 4th all-time leading receiver (USU history) and left there the all_time leader in career Touchdowns during my career there. and the receiver on the other side of me ended up #2 and #3 in the nation in receiving. that was a time in maybe a 5 year stretch that Utah State football players were drafted or (free agents) going into the NFL in big numbers every year.now by saying all of this can anyone tell me what could possibly be going on or going off. yea i know i tooted my own horn, but you must understand what kind of programs and footbsall teams ther was back there. you say well this guy prabably hasn" been back since he left. yes this is true but i still have parts of my body in that upgraded football field and facility. so that can't be taken away. i just hate to see Utah State football get smacked like this!!!
Concerned!!

yes it's me bombzilla again. still rooting for my former team the "aggies". wishing them that killer instinct that they will need heading into the next game. good luck guys, play your tails off. put up alot of points and play bust your butts defense. be solid on special teams also. remember when you crush somebody be extremely aggressive and very confident, from the first whistle to the last. have no pity, you have a game to win, and let no team stand in your way.
speaking from all 'aggie" alum, BOMBS-AWAYYY!!! and your next opponent out. i'll be cheering for you. Who you rooting for? USU!!!
good luck, Bombzilla ('79,'80)

great football game. that's what i'm talking about being aggressive in all phases of the game. you are capable of beating anyone. great effort by a good looking group of athletes. now for reality, don't be content, you still lost the football game. and from that i have a problem with a sequence of play calling after a couple of turnovers that went your way. moementum has turned in your favor, you are 0-6 and have nothing to lose. instead you call two series of plays as though you are 10-1 and feel you have to be conservative. 3 and out both series and punt. give your kids a chance to be aggressive and take shots and win ball games. remember you hadn't won a game and you are in a position to win this one.
just my thoughts and my demeanor. but overall i like what i see as far as talent. but you need some new coaching. these coaches aren't close to the ones i had up there when i played. these coaches are to scary and don't have that "if i get any chance to blow you away i will. i just don't see that in them. so i hope the kids keep playing there butts off and one day the coaches "get it". enough said, good luck next ball game.

what do you mean they don't know how to win? or finnish ball games. that's up to a coaching staff to find a way to put his team in position to win and then coach and will that team to make those plays, get those stops and finnish games. you don't bench your QB( something you haven't done all year) you sit him down early in the week if you think you need a change of pace. not mess with the psyche of your team during a game. you have too much talent to have kids thinking that they lost because they didn't make a big play here or a big play there. at some point take it upon yourself and own up to this season as a coaching staff and look in the mirror and tell yourself that 0-7 is on you. and you are partly responsible. yes they need to execute but it's more than that, you must as a coaching staff not be content with, "yes we played well, but....", is not good enough for those players. they shouldn't have to buy into that. show some aggressiveness in your weekly preparation. that field goal that was blocked, wasn't just those kids, that's coaching too. except it and own up to it. not once have i heard this is on me, i have to dig down and get us out this rut, this is my football team and i am responsible. when i played at usu my coaches willed victories out of us by coaching as if they were playing and it rolled over to the field and we executed. because our coaches had that attitude that no one is going to beat us with the athletes and talent we have. 0-7 is a joke and not fair to an aggie football team. no matter what era. i can't stand seeing my former football team (school)not win games week in and week out. stop believing the hype what other coaches are saying, that you are improving. you haven't won a game. and they don't want too see you win one. they don't care about you. this team cares about you and your staff, quit letting them down and help will them to some wins. then you can start talking about who can make plays and so forth. the burden is not all on them. coach and win some football games and quit making excuses. you players just keep playing your tails off and hopefully it will turn around. i know there's people who don't agree with me, and that's fine. this is just my thoughts and beliefs, and i just know what we did when we won "alot" of ball games up there when i played. we took responsibilty (coaches and players) and we fixed it ,and won games.
good luck next week, and i am still rooting for you. i haven't fell off the bandwagon and i never will. play hard and win you some ball games.

well guys i don't know what to say at this point except that maybe it's time for a possible coaching change. a loss like that(and at home too!!) that's very embarrassing for a utah state football team. i'm still hanging in there for you guys. but i think it's starts with the coaching preparation and then down to getting players ready to play. and hope that the coaching staff is looking at itself in the mirror. i know the players must execute, but coaches must put players in position to do so. and bottom line it starts with the coaches and i guess these coaches don't get it. several former aggie teammates of mine are in disbelief that a loss like this is on the board. we played the nebraska, and u of texas and arizona states, etc., and never got beat like that and that was at there house. but never beat like that at home. i am very stern on my stance that it's time for a new coach and new era at my old school. too much talent for these kids not to be up for a challenge every week. be coaches and coach a win. that is what you were hired to do. and you have failed these football players and failed utah state and it's fans.(and for sure past players)that have came thru usu and where coached, motivated and won games. of course this is simply just my thoughts of frustration(i'm still rooting for you)

congrats fellas it's good to see you hang in there and win one. and you put points on the board the aggie way blow someone out. i love it . something to build on for next year going in. there is a positive side of everything and winning helps that come along. so keep working all the time. hopefully my comments (if you see them motivates and/or piss you off enough to get you to go and stomp a mud hole on somebody when you play. again congrats on the victory and keep working. still rooting for you. aggies forever.

two in a row. that's called a winning streak, something you can be sure to build on. proud of you. was very harsh on your coaching and the jury may still be out on them, as far as i'm concerned but they got you to win two and i'm cool with that. build on this and work extremely hard for next season.
