Yes it is time for Mumme to move on. Get a coach that doesnt play head games with the players, doesnt blame the players in public and private when the coaches rotate so many players in and out during a game (as they did with Utah State) that their heads were spinning, not knowing which way to go. I've been to every home NMSU game and watched others online and frankly, many games were played that could have and should have been won but im sorry Felix, the coaching stinks. I think the DC has lost many games on behalf of NMSU. Players lose hope. Why did NMSU not play Long for almost the whole game against UH when he probably would have been fired up since its his home state - and he had a fantastic week the week before, and all season he's been solid. I watch some second stringers who are better than first stringers but get little to no play because Mumme has personality issues with them.

Mumme can believe in his system all he wants, but if its not working, its not working.

What ever. The point is if NMSU doesnt do something fast, NMSU goes down a division and it will take a really long time to recover.

At what point will coaches be held accountable for poor performance? When will AD's and schools quit giving contracts to underperforming staffs? If a coach won't sign a contract that holds him accountable for poor performance then find another coach. Give a shot to a young up and coming coach that's willing to put his money where his mouth is.

I heard theres going to be a press conference later today and heads will roll! It's about time!

I agree w/ Steve. We need a young up & coming coach that, is respected by his players, students and community!!
Even if he's here for 2-3 years! Give, Charlie Strong, Ron English, DeWayne Walker a shot!!

We all have seen the results (field & attendance) when you have an arrogant, & terrible game day coach, that is not respected by anyone!

Later loser and don't let the door hit you on the way out!

FINALLY!!! It's about time the Sun-News allows you to state what everyone in the known universe has known for some time. Mumme the Dummy stinks & he needs to go... NOW!!! Get someone with name recognition, community involvement and someone that demands discipline from players like NMSU did with Reggie.

NMSU has fired coach after coach after coach. Changing coaches is treating a symptom. NMSU has destroyed its fan base. It is the Fulton Center that is the problem. The A.D. track record in the area of fan relations is atrocious. No team can win when they play before an empty house. NMSU lost the local fans in the community many years ago thanks to terminal arrogance. Wake up Aggie fans. Coaches have been coming and going for decades. The chief athletic administrators are the CEO's. Mac Boston came here because he was Mike Martin's "buddy". He was without a clue about the problems when he arrived. And he hasn't figured out a thing yet.

You know the WAC coaches are kissing each others asses when Richardson only makes 2nd team and Paden doesn't even get recognized something is wrong. Both were ranked in the top 4 in the WAC and nationally ranked as well. The coaches must talk to each other. "you vote for this guy and I will return the favor". 6 linebackers made all league and none ahead of paden in any stat! Bullshit to say the least. It's no wonder ESPN calls it the worst league in the nation. It' the coaches and the political BS!!!
