If college football coaches indeed are hardwired to despise the hype machine and any semblance of artificial media anointing of their teams, Virginia Tech 's Frank Beamer better get ready for a long summer.

Wow, bitter much?

VCU played really well and those weren't exactly "fluke" wins. They absolutely deserve credit for doing what they did and while I was skeptical of their invitation, I can't hate them too much for taking advantage of their opportunity.

I agree Shaka is a great coach and he, along with Butler's Brad Stevens, will be big names getting nice jobs in the next few years. I don't see either leaving just yet.
No not bitter (ok sort of!) but your POV is fair enough. VCU did defy the odds I guess, and as Marcellus says they did beat good teams by a good margin. Agree about Brad Stevens, he needs to take the IU job once they fire Tom Crean! He's an Indiana guy and IMO can take that program back to the elite level. Shaka is a good coach too, made a great run.

I agree VCU should have never been in the tournament to begin with, but once the selections were made it was time to play ball! And play ball VCU did! VCU beat the crap out of their first two round opponents, G-town by 18, Purdue by 18. They had one close game in FSU, and then smacked the overall number one seed Kansas in the mouth by 10! In contrast Butler was lucky they made it past either round one or two, barely getting by ODU with a last second shot, and we all know the shenanigans that were the Butler/Pitt game ending!
After last nights embarrassment of a game, clearly VCU would have played a better game than 18.8% from the floor to post a whopping 41 points, heck Kentucky/VCU would have been way more exciting to watch than that 12 year old rec league game on TV last night! That was garbage!!! Butler should be ashamed to go outside for a month after that display of sorry-arsed ball playing!
That was some crap basketball, and as much as I hate to admit, VCU did play some big time ball. Can't hate Shaka, he's a terrific coach.

Tyrod Taylor going to the Ravens in the 6th round, thought he'd go a bit earlier. Maybe he'll be more of a wildcat QB, similar to the Jets' Brad Smith.

Well Richard choker, another season, same results, VT in the top 10 rankings, a waxing of uVa, another 11 win reg season (8 in a row 10+ win season!) You did make progress this year Richard, uVa didn't suck as bad as usual, so there is that......

Well, well, well change, I don't know what to say. Well actually I do! The uVa lady who's football team actually outclassed the beloved UF! barely .500 again buddy, what gives? Got waxed by FSU! LOL! UF sucks hard bro! Those steady Hokies, clearly showing yet again to be the nations most consistant winning program out there.

I can see why this board died out. The Chokies are horrible and hardly a contender in anything. The "consistent" Techies barely made it to some weedwacker caliber bowl while playing in a poorous conference. I'm sure Marcellus has some weird way of validating things.

Maybe, they can talk up their basketball program. Err, I guess not.

But talking about Tyrod, he got a ring. Congrats. It's sure better than anything they won or it looks like Beamer and company will win anytime soon in Blacksburg.
