Good for you! Your dad is right, education is more important than anything. A singing career is great (my daughter loves your music), but you always have to have something else to fall back on. I wish you the best!!

I can't believe a Columbia station would say USC w/o meaning the University of South Carolina. We're the real USC!! I thought he was coming here!

Say Southern Cal next time, would ya? Where's your loyalty?

It's great to get an education. A few pro athletes have demonstrated this...Vince Carter when he missed practice a few years ago to attend his college graduation, Shaq finishing his degree, etc.

But somebody correct me if I've read the story wrong...did he accept a scholarship? If so, WHY? His father is a multi-millionaire...Wouldn't this money have helped someone less fortunate?

If he earned it he has a right to use it no matter how much money he or his father has.

What is your point? He has NEVER been in trouble with the law, nor did his music reflect this. He could have easily been "tutored" as so many dimwitted celebrities are, and if his skills don't stand up on the court I suppose he'll be riding the bench or off the team. We haven't seen him play yet, so how would anyone know?

It's an atheletic scholarship, granted to anyone no matter how much money you have you can get one! Congrats to him.
