UH should keep, one "FCS" program on its schedule as possible every year... Don't underestimate these programs, given increased parity and emphasis from the NCAA for play between "BCS and FCS" programs. Also, hopefully, fans come out and support these games with attendance. Don't forget, Georgia would draw the same for Western Carolina as Florida, and Michigan for App State, the same, as Ohio State! Some very good "1-AA" teams came through Honolulu in the Jones era, including, a Tony Romo led Eastern Illinois team, that gave UH EVERYTHING it could handle. The Big Sky, plays Hawaii tough in the Islands including losses to Portland State and Montana... Hawaii fans and the Athletic Program need to remember, to give the same amount of respect to the FCS teams, that UH seeks, from the SEC's, PAC-10 and Big Ten teams they play... Give Respect-Get Respect...

Actually the teams that beat us was Portland State and Florida Atlantic but yeah cant underedtimate these teams which is why I would prefer us to play a weak FBS Div. 1A team instead of a FCS team.

One way for Jim Donovan to save some money would be to schedule the '09 road games to Washigton State and Idaho would be to schedule them on back to back weekends since the schools are located 8 miles apart. The team could stay in Lewiston, Spokane or even Cheney for a week and save on air fare.

Schedduling high school teams liek this only firther discredit UH football. Can't they play real teams? Unless they do, they will never return to a BCS bowl. Especially after JJ was slaughtered by a legit team in the Sugar Bowl.

UH Football is heading into uncharted waters this season. Their first game pits them against a team with a returning Junior quarterback who is a Heisman Trophy winner, and UH will be without their star quarterback, wide receiver corp, and a host of other major contributors, to say nothing of a new head coach. I have been fortunate enough to have met him personally, and he was good enough to talk to me at length. Nice man- and I wish him much success. I love Warrior Football, am on the field for every home game in the South end zone area. I wish the 2008-2009 UH Warrior Football team all the good fortune in the world. I ahope they make a good showing in Florida, and do not lose players to injury. This opponent has an axe to grind against UH for comments made by June Jones, who is curiously missing for the tilt. By the way June- pay back the money you owe UH. Then you will have made a clean break from UH.
