Joshua Smith To Washington: Examining the Possibility

Earlier this morning Jeff Goodman of CBS Sports reported that Joshua Smith, having recently left the UCLA basketball program, has Washington as one of three schools, along with Kansas and Georgetown, that he has an interest in transferring too.

I wish Mr. Smith well at whatever school he chooses. If he doesn't lose the weight, improve his endurance and reduce his fouls, however, he will be a bench jockey wherever he transfers to.

Coaches, Self, Thompson and Romero require that their athletes play solid D without excessively fouling, are in very good basketball shape so they can run the fast break extensively and run back to play D. Unfortunately and for two years Mr. Smith when he was at UCLA never exhibited any of these characteristics that Self, Romero and Thompson require.

Maybe a change in venue and/or a different voice will spur the young man into becoming the talented player that everyone agrees he has the potential to become.
