UCLA's Holiday to hire agent, go pro

Campbell Hall High of North Hollywood product Jrue Holiday said today he will sign with an agent and leave for the NBA after spending one season at UCLA.

It's amazing how the NBA GM's have ruined NCAA basketball. They draft these busts over and over again when they are so young and unproven. When are they going to realize that great at 17 is not great at 26? For every Howard there are 3 busts. The "Lebrons" are once a decade or two.
Jrue couldn't even come close to dominating in the NCAA's, so now he's a lottery pick? Makes sense. In bizzarro world.

Jrue is a point guard...He played shooting guard at UCLA...He is athletic and can shoot. No matter what, the NBA sees his potential that's why he will be drafted high.

Good luck to Jrue. I think Lee looked really good whenever he played, hopefully he will take Jrue's place next season.

Hopefully NBA makes a 2 year rule instead of a one year rule. Other than that, coaches got to live with it.

Good riddance to Mr. Holiday. He showed me nothing during the last year even when he did play point. There is no doubt that he has talent which leads me to believe that he was sandbagging last year because he was being forced to play a year of college basketball. The NCAA and the NBA should do what is already done in college baseball and have a rule that if you are not drafted out of high school, then you have to spend at least 3 years in college. This would lead to only the truly remarkable players such as Kobi, LeBron, Dwight Howard, etc. wasting their college eligibility while the rest of the mortals at least get some kind of college education. This would also allow the universities to keep some control over who is actually committed to their programs. It is most frustrating as a college basketball fan to know that my star player is just biding his time for one year in order to jump ship to the NBA.

As for Holiday, I shouldn't be hard replacing him. UCLA has Malcom Lee and Jareme Anderson and two top recruits, one a point guard and another a shooting guard.
