UCF senior football player Johnell Neal was injured in a shooting Thursday night in his hometown of Baton Rouge, La.

I would have to imagine that his condition is known, what is it? If he's talked to coach, I would have to assume stable???

Smart kid, he graduated college in under 4 years while on the football squad, that's impressive. I can't imagine he was involved in anything he shouldn't have been, probably the wrong place at the wrong time.

Why do you want to rip on a person like that? The guy graduates in 4 yrs and wants to go back for additional degrees. Goes home to visit family and get caught up in some (I assume)jealousy feud ie your family is sucessful and mines not so Im gonna shoot someone.

unfortunately sad cases like this bring out the racists who actually are the major cause of crime and the major cause of the high black prison rates. most blacks that are in prison are there for minor nonviolent crimes as part of a racist policy stemming from the nixon law and order mess. now this outstanding man is a victim and some bring race into the issue. i am sure the racists would be very upset if their grandma was shot for being at the wrong place at the wrong time. give this guy a break and then maybe think about how you f uped america by being racist.

Wow. Again, it only took the d-bags about four total posts before they descended upon the story and started leaving negative, borderline racist comments...while a man is in the hospital!

Just because you have anonymity on these message boards doesn't mean that these postings don't still reflect your character. We might not know who you are, but those comments--and the thoughts behind them--don't go away. And when you have a child of your own (I'm guessing you're a college kid, no kids, and you probably think your comments were funny), I want you to think back to these sorts of comments.

This isn't a videogame for you to mock while playing; this is someone's life hanging in the balance, and you're saying "Blam Blam" and "I wonder if someone did not pay their drug bill." It's sad.
