I live in Las Vegas and I get to watch every Magic game, thanks to NBA league pass, but I feel for the locals, what a stupid move to sign with a network that doesnt cover the region

Thanks for the article Dan, glad to see local media pushing this issue more and more. Hopefully this atrocity will end, it is terrible "publicity" for the Orlando Magic and Bright House.

If the Magic or Bright Hose really wanted this solved, if would have been by now. I e-mailed Bright(we make the dumb asterisk commercials and build UCF a new stadium without water fountains) House and the e-mail is got back was basically telling me that I should be happy with all the current channels that show all other NBA games and half of the Magic games on Sun Sports. Isn't Sun Sports a sister station of FSN? Then what's the big deal Dim Shack? We have TNT and TBS. TLC, Discovery and Animal Planet. ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, ESPNClassic. So greedy. I'm switching to satellite this weekend. You're too expensive anyway.

Dave, as I posted elsewhere on the Sentinel site in response to this issue, here's one for you to consider:

The Magic, almost since their inception, have billed themselves as 'nice guys'. Most of that stems from the DeVos family themselves and their 'strong' Christian roots. So I ask you, what kind of a Christian value does it speak to that you FORCE YOUR FANS to go TO A BAR in order to see their hometown team play or to force them to switch service providers from a cable company to a satellite provider?

Yes, Bright House sucks and is rightfully being painted as the biggest villain in this sad, sad debacle. But the Magic themselves NEVER should have let it get to this point. Between the losing of Shaquille O'Neal in his prime, the signing of (the hobbled) Grant HIll, the trade of Tracy McGrady for a box of donuts right down to the debacle of the Donovan hiring/withdraw this summer you would THINK that this team might actually have learned a thing or two about NOT creating public headaches for themselves and actually starting to CARE about their fanbase. Sadly, this has proven one more time that the DeVos family ranks right up there with the Dolan's, George Shinn and Donald Sterling as the most incompetent ownership in the entire league.

Isn't it kind of "asterisk"-like when everybody in the country can watch an Orlando Magic game except people in the Magic's home city???

Bright House - you need to stop trying to get people to sign up for phone business and take care of your CORE CUSTOMERS - TV subscribers who want to watch Magic games.
Give us the SAME service your customers in Tampa have. They have Fox Sports Net on expanded basic. We want FSN on expanded basic here.

Get rid of News 13 if you need the extra room - that channel grows more and more worthless all the time.

Another game - same outcome. I am afraid that I am getting used to the 30sec hightlights on channel 13. Why to go Magic.
I am sure by after missing 10 games or so I will be cheering for a new team.

Any chance they can get this figured out by tonight so I can watch the Detriot game? I didn't think so. Hey Brighthouse, I'm taking my $100 a month and giving it to DirectTV. Thanks for nothing!

Why don"t you people get smart and get direct tv. I did and I kick myself for waiting so long. If you have hi-def you will be amazed at the quality, and they are getting more stations ever day. I can watch all the networks and most sports station in hi-def now. You may pay a little more, but tv as in life, you get what you pay for.

It will be the best money you can spend, and It won't be 100 dollars.
I switched and have two sets on hi-def and only costs me 75.00 a month. after rebates, didn't cost a dime to install. they were here on time and were very professional. I procrastinated for months before i finally bit the bullet. You will be amazed and the quality and the amount of hi-def stations.
BEfore you negative minded people jump on me- I do not work for direct tv. take the plung you won't reget it.

Ya know I had this same problem two years ago in Atl. The games were on the local PAX station and I have Diret TV which did not pick up that local station. I got the NBA pass (to see magic games) but all of hawks games were blacked out because of local contracts that Direct TV did not pick-up.

To make matters worse some network bright-boys (or bright-girls) have decided to put the magic on network TV about once every 6-7 weeks??? Portland is on national about twice as much. Its hard to find a night when LA, Miami, or Cavs are not on TV. I feel your pain!

How do you fools get to keep your job with this major snafu? It's not too late for the Magic to turn this Public Relations nightmare into something positive!

I called Brighthouse and got basically the same response "be satisfied with the games you get on SUN Sports". Talk about arrogance! They talk as though they're giving me a free service. It costs me a bottom line total of $58 a month for the expanded standard package. they also said they might eventually add FSN to their digital service, which for me to get would cost me close to $75 a month. I told them out of principle I'd switch to Direct TV for that amount rather than pay them. Know what? I don't think they really care! What a bunch of idiots. They need to hire some "jocks" to help them understand how passionate we fans are!

They do not care about us Magic Fans. Why should we even give those money grubbing sport killing bastards one cent? Besides their service sucks, and all their service techs are felons. They scope out your house, then the break in that week.

For weeks now I've read about Brighthouse and FSN but nothing about Comcast and FSN in North lake county and The Villages, who even have Senior Magic Dancers. Does anyone know if Comcast is going to give us FSN?

I love the remark everyone covering the issue keeps making. "It will be resolved soon" what is soon? It doesn't seem to be getting resolved to me. If it were then the Magic would be on tonight because of the match up between them and Detroit. This isn't getting resolved anytime soon, by the time it does half the games will have been played. If these idiots who caused all of this worked for any other reputable companies they would have been fired for this situation.

When is the time going to come that we boycott the companies that hold us hostage by lobbying for more money by not giving us what we want like kids at Christmas??

I still can't believe that China can watch the Magic games on tv and hometown fans can't. I wonder if Comissioner Stern is aware of the situation. We need some heavyweights to get involved! Evidently DeVos is not a heavyweight.

When I called Brighthouse today, the lady said that it was FSN's fault that a deal has not been made. Then she the audacity to tell me that the majority of the Orlando market does not want the Magic games on TV. I think she was high or something. The fact that the Magic's upper management has let this go on, just proves that they are a poorly run organization. Great fans, great team. Pathetic management, pathetic cable company...what gives.
