Certainly there are no games that fall into the category of the unimportant. Each game -- in terms of wins, losses, opportunities to improve, opportunities to learn and simply the sheer joy of playing and watching the game -- is important.

C-USA repeat

I think the Miners could defend the title if all stay healthy. Seeing the rest of the field in C-USA, there will be some very tough matchups especially against most of the East half of the conference. The conference could easily be represented by 3 teams in the NCAA. Look for the Miners to do well against the west. They need to work on rebounding on on both sides of the ball. Should be exciting

It would appear by their record that Tulsa is a push over. I think they are gonna give the Miners fits, match-up wise though. I expect the Miners to pull it out, especially since we are at home, but I wouldn't be surprised if it goes down to the wire. I can't seem to get a grasp on this Miner squad as I've seen moments of really good basketball and I've seen some hellaciousness. I guess it depends on who decides to show up. Either way, this is one fan who would give an arm and leg to be able to watch them live, game in and game out. I just wish there were more people in EP who felt the same way. There have been some dismal crowds this season for such a storied program. I guess we have about 6000 faithful and a sh1tload of bandwagoners. C'mon El Paso, give Floyd and his Miners the support they deserve and get behind em'. Go Miners!

Wevis we should beat Tulsa who will not compete for the Conf USA Title this year.

Of course Knight is going to hype them. Do you know if Tulsa had only scored 15 extra points per game they would almost be undefeated? LOL Why Tulsa only lost to Appalachian State 5-7 by 3 and if App State only had scored 19 more points they would have beaten East Tenn State.

Miners should win by 10

Don't underestimate this Tulsa squad. They are far from a pushover...have played the toughtest schedule in C-USA and have had some injuries.

Steve, you make far too many assumptions! First and foremost, I don't rely on Knight's articles for my own commentary, as I keep up with college basketball in general and do my own bit of research. And no sh1t Tulsa won't contend for a C-USA title. Nowhere in my previous post do I even say Tulsa is good. I mention match-ups and if you watched the game via all-access you saw that it took UTEP most of the first half to get it figured out. It wasn't until Tulsa's bigs got into major foul trouble that UTEP pulled away. I can tell by all your posts that you're a stats rat and you hardly ever have anything original and of your own to say. You're always bringing up the RPI which doesn't mean a thing at this point in the season. I can't remember a post of yours where you have anything subjective to say, where you mention match-ups and or style of play, defenses, etc. Yeah, Tulsa + 15 points per game would have them close to undefeated and you + 50 points would have a half decent IQ. By the way let me congratulate you for nailing the score dead on - but remember, someone guesses 6 correct numbers almost weekly in the Texas Lotto. Luck!!! In the end though, all I really care about is that the Miners won, which by the way I did predict. Sleep on that Stevie.
